What to do the day before a cruise in Miami?

We will have a full day in Miami the day before we set sail on the Glory. This will be in March 2011. We know that at that time spring break will be in full swing.

 

What are some things we can do in Miami that are cost efficient? We do not want to spend much of our cruise money in Miami, but we do not want to stay at the hotel either. We have never been to Miami. Our ages are 55, 49 and 13.

There is a boardwalk along the beach (go left when you face ocean) you can see all resorts and beach. Also the Lincoln st.walkway is fun.
