What do you bring into port?

Hi, I am going on my first cruise to S. Caribbean in a couple months and I was wondering what all you usually bring into port?

I know I plan on bringing our Cruise Cards, driver's licenses, sunscreen, and our waterproof camera.

Are towels a good idea to bring at every port? Any other items? I'd rather not lug a bunch of crap around, but would rather be safe than sorry

 

I was thinking about getting one of those Kwik tek dry bags and there's several sizes, I didn't know whether to get the one that would hold just id's and money, a slightly larger one that would hold sunscreen and camera too, or a pretty large one that would hold towels and everything???

 

My husband and I both have iPhones too, should we bring those or just leave them on the boat?

If your beaching it, I would just bring one of the boats towels. You can replace it for a fresh one when you return to the boat. I bring sunglasses, sunscreen, cruise card, money and camera.:)

For each port find out what currency you will need. If you are going to the Caribbean, US$ are widely accepted, but make sure you have small bills. They often give change in local currency.

Bottled water, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, map of the area (ship sometime will print one)

Bring what you need for whatever it is that you're doing. If it's a beach, bring the pool towels and sunscreen. If you're shopping, bring money..no towels...

 

Sort of like when you go to town at home...you bring what you'll need!

If the port is not in the U.S.A., we each always carry a copy of our passport and a credit card in addition to our keycard, plus a few dollars for incidental small purchases or tips. I also take a bottle of water, lip balm and kleenex. DH carries his Crackberry since it is "international".

 

Other things are port and/or weather dependent.
