Emil is still with Redgie, Rommell and Danlo, calling themselves the new TopMen. That info is from Emil just recently.
bankiegirl Posted March 21, 2011 #30 Share Posted March 21, 2011 We were on the Spirit end of Jan. I cant remember the name of the band but thought they were poor. Not much in the way of 'stage presence', didnt interact with the passengers and dressed on stage like they were going down to their local for a swift pint. Disappointed. In fact I was slightly disappointed with the slow bar/waiter/waitress service too. I think Thomsons have reduced the staff numbers a little. The food wasnt as good as previously either. I Have been on the Spirit, Celebration and the Destiny within the past year and agree with eveything you say. the staff shortages were very noticable, especialy on the Destiny. The food was not up to the usual standard and the entertainment was quite amateurish. The Destiny is badly in need of refurbishment. The lido in particular. The cabins have seen better days. We put up with these things on Thomson's cruises because the staff make up for all the shortcomings, but even they seemed a bit demoralized by all the cuts

They seemed the usual happy bunch to me. On Destiny in January the food in the main dining room was excellent although as you say the buffet is a weak point. However as we were in the caribbean it was OK with plenty of seats if you realise that you can use the tables beside the pools. My inside cabin was clean and everything worked plus I notice that the safety equipment/sensors etc appeared brand new. On occasion the bar service to the casino was rather slow but once they got to know me the casino staff would summon a waiter. I thought the public rooms on destiny looked just fine!.
