FYI. I just saved $200 on my reservation for a Prince William Sound Glacier Cruise! Alaska RR is offering a special through Wednesday, 12/22/10...$100 gift certificates (non-refundable) for only $50! I purchased 4 (5 is the max you can buy) and used those for the cruise package I reserved. It's a great deal...thought you might like to know. Go to the Alaska Railroad website for details.

Thanks for the heads up! I thought you meant they offer discounted boat tours, but basically it's 50% off the rail tickets right? You buy the gift certificates to purchase rail tickets? If true, I'll buy them for our Seward to Anchorage trip.

 

Do you know what the "additional restrictions" are?

I'm not aware of what additional restrictions there might be. On the same phone call, I purchased the gift certs and used those to pay for the PWS tour package...RT ANC to Whittier and 5 hour glacier cruise. The pkg was $217 pp...total $434. With the gift certs, I paid $234. Nice savings!

Just got my certificates 500$ for 250$ . They can be used with tour saver and northern lights coupon books.
