Three Nights in Bermuda

During the last year, the second summer of the Bermuda itineraries NCL cut the last night off. Much of NCL's website is a bit old and dated, for example the third night at Bermuda. NCL had hoped they would have been able to open their casino in Bermuda, but that legislative effort in Bermuda failed. During the first summer the Heritage Wharf was opened, NCL did stay for the third night...

Its not as if the night life in Bermuda is great anyway. Frankly, the night life is better on the ship... NCL will make a bit more money opening the casino and shops a night early... NCL does stay for there days of daylight still...

Previously the older smaller ships which NCL have discarded did stay four days at Bermuda. But NCL's ships are too large to dock or anchor at St. George and Hamilton anymore, and thus have to share the Heritage Wharf at the West End Dockyards... For both ships to spend four days at that wharf, the week would need to be eight days, not seven...

If you go to the NCL website and check the itineraries of the 3 cruise ships that do Bermuda, you will find none stay for 3 nights. Here are the length of stay of each cruise ship: Dawn (from Boston) 54.5 hours, Gem (from NYC) 57 hours, and Star (from NYC) 57 hours. Hours stay are based on the arrival and departure times in Bermuda from the published itineraries.

If you want 3 nights in Bermuda, you will have to sail on HAL's Veendam.

i am not greedy...we can share the dock with other NCL ships. We do when royal Caribbean docks ...I am sure we would rather share with NCL ....i am just saying....

When NCL signed the ten year agreement with Bermuda including an exclusive from Boston, Bermuda was able to finance the new second wharf at the West End Dockyards. Because NCL signed the agreement, NCL usually uses the new Heritage Wharf. The other wharf nearby is reserved for other cruise lines which do use it especially during the summer season practically all of the time. Therefore its not available for NCL.

Frankly without the ten year agreement, NCL probably would have been the cruise line shut out of Bermuda. With the agreement NCL isn't shut out, and passengers can rest assured NCL is committed for two ships over ten years with the Bermuda itinerary...

NCL also prizes the exclusive from Boston... Its something NCL won't squander away... Only arrogant New Yorkers would think they deserve another day more than cruisers from Boston...

Don when does the 10 years expire? Thanks for the information it was very informative

This past summer was the second year of the ten year agreement when the Spirit started from Boston... So there are eight more summers left with the agreement... The next two summers NCL is using the larger Dawn from Boston...

There is a reason why HAL Masdam was doing a summer Canadian itinerary from Boston this past summer instead of a Bermuda itinerary...
