Meeting someone Disembarking Ft Lauderdale

I'm hoping to surprise my brother who is getting off the Equinox Monday morning. Will I be able to double-park and "meet" him near the "exit door" or do I have to park somewhere and then stand outside?

Last time we tried to do this, they would not let us in Port Everglades because of security. Maybe you can cab it in and wait for him? I would call Port Everglades.

You can get through security with photo ID. There is a place at each terminal for private car pickup but you can't get out of your car there, so you will need to park. If you choose not to surprise him, you can wait in a parking lot on 17th St and he can call your cell phone from his cell phone once he is outside and on the curb and you'll be able to pick him up curbside in 5 minutes.
