What happens to luggage?

We are sailing on Serenade of the Seas on Jan. 29th...CAN'T WAIT!!! Anyway, we are contemplating doing the Bacardi Distillery tour on the day of disembarkation because our flight doesn't leave until 4:30 that afternoon. I am curious what happens to our luggage? Do we have to lug it around all day with us on the excursion?

If it's a ship's tour, the luggage will go on the bus with you, and both you and your bags will be dropped at the airport after!

If you are doing the tour on your own, you'll be responsible for your luggage. Some airlines have "luggage valet", where your bags go to the airport ahead of you.

We used the luggage valet in San Juan in 2008, but someone had said previously that they discontinued that, so I am not sure it they reinstituted yet or not, but that would be the way to go if it isn't a ship excursion.

We did a city tour and then went to the hotel...luggage went in the tour vehicle and stayed there all day...those going to airport on same tour same thing, luggage and them drop at airport at end of the tour.

You should be fine either way.

If you decide to do your own thing you can take your luggage to Barrachina Restaurant in Old San Juan. They offer a free storage service for cruise ship passengers from 9:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.

They have been offering this service for awhile. In light of how things change, you can contact them by e-mail at contacto@barrachina.com, or call (787)725-7912 and goggle Barrachina in Old San Juan to learn about them. The restaurant is located at 104 Fortaleza Street.

ENJOY!!
