Sad news to report

In regards to the Valor, Rosie's, the Lido buffet is based off the huge poster in the two story section. If you don't know what poster I'm talking about there is a picture of it in the link. Anyways, the poster dates back to WW2 and sadly today the woman pictured passed away today. I had no idea the poster had such history to it. Learn new things everyday. I haven't looked at your link but I know the poster you referenced... Rosie the Riviter... It's an American Icon.

God bless Rosie for being an inspiration to millions in very dire times...

I must say you are showing your age (meaning you younger). For us older folks it is a very famous WW II poster representing "Rosie the Riveter" even if a composite picture.

Thanks for the info. For our March cruise on the Triumph we visited the WWII museum in New Orleans pre cruise and I bought a tshirt with Rosie on it. I wear it often and always get comments. Many older ladies tell me all about her. Sad news indeed.

I agree with the above posters. One of the reasons I've always LOVED sailing Valor, is because of Rosie the Riveter there on Lido Deck. So sad to hear she's no longer with us, God Bless Her!

I'm not old enough for WW2 but certainly studied it and Rose in high school history. I have a shirt with her picture on it, too!

Very sad day indeed - when I heard the news earlier; I immediately thought of the Valor :)
