Luv2Cruise525 Posted January 1, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 1, 2011 Hey Everyone! My family is thinking about doing a cruise to nowhere from New York (1 Night). I wanted to know what the demographics are on these type of cruises. Me and my brother are both college students and wanted to know if there is any possibility of there being other people our age on these types of cruises. I have already checked out the roll calls and wanted to get more of a feel of the cruise as a whole. This would be our first NCL cruise but our 8th cruise. wg6530 Posted January 1, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 1, 2011 these have a reputation as party cruises. Lots of people in bars and casinos. totally different from longer cruises. No doubt some people will go on the CTN and stay on for the next, longer cruise, so there will be some more traditional cruisers on board.

wg6530 Posted January 2, 2011 #4 Share Posted January 2, 2011 If you go, have a great time. But please do not try to judge NCL too much based on such a cruise (whether for the good or the bad). A one nighter probably will not be representative of the experience on a full length cruise. comparing it to any of your other cruises is risky. ...It should be great way to see and ship and have some fun... Partyatsea Posted January 2, 2011 #5 Share Posted January 2, 2011 Definitely a party cruise, don't plan on sleeping much :D. Also agree the atmosphere in NOTHING like that of a longer cruise, not bad, different. We went on one last year and had a blast. We booked b2b CTNs for Feb. this year and can't wait. Luv2Cruise525 Posted January 3, 2011 Author #6 Share Posted January 3, 2011 Thank you all for the responses! They are very helpful! I assumed it would be very party based but I wanted to hear it from those who have experienced. Not sure if it's a good match for my family! DMH15 Posted January 3, 2011 #7 Share Posted January 3, 2011 I enjoyed my CTN out of NYC. It was a two nighter. I much preferred my two fourteen nighters! But if faced with a choice of no cruise or a short one... Well hello, NCL!!! I'm there! Yeah, people packing it all in a short time. Felt like Vegas, did anybody sleep???? Spa, casino, all packed. But we watched the sailaway from our balcony and also escaped into the serenity of Le Bistro... So, no regrets here!
fridaythe13th Posted January 3, 2011 #8 Share Posted January 3, 2011 We tried it twice. First time didn't care for it because it was crowded everywhere, long lines at the bar, loud and it just wasn't to our liking. We gave it another shot thinking it would be different. I would never do another one but plenty of people seem to like them.
