pandabebe Posted January 5, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 5, 2011 DS is 1.5 and drinks homo milk. Do you know if it is available on RCCL ships? I did a search and the only thread I found was from 2004 (which did say that homo milk was readily available but just wanted to double check as a lot can change in 6 years :p). TIA! cantw8togo Posted January 5, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 5, 2011 I'm not sure if they do, and would be surprised if they don't; but Americans mostly call homo milk (homogenized), whole milk or 3% milk, and 2% is called vitamin D milk. Ahh, the joys of traveling and learning about subtle differences in common products. N.
6rugrats Posted January 5, 2011 #3 Share Posted January 5, 2011 I've always found there to be plenty of milk for straight people. As an American, I will correct the post above. Most milk in the US is homogenized, and we don't usually use the term, "homo" to differentiate between types of milk. Main terms are "whole milk" (with the fat),"low-fat milk" (1-2% fat) and "nonfat" (no fat).
cb at sea Posted January 5, 2011 #4 Share Posted January 5, 2011 ALL of the milk is "homogenized" and pastuerized! The ships will have whole milk, 2% and skim. (And Chocolate!!)
Marie51 Posted January 5, 2011 #5 Share Posted January 5, 2011 I am a big milk drinker. At the lunch buffet sometimes they keep milk out of sight so just ask for it. Also I always order several cartons from room service and keep it in the cabin fridge.
