pgphoto Posted January 6, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 6, 2011 3 cab questions. Cab from FLL to the port, with a stop at Total Wine. Sailing the Eurodam in 2 days! #1 - Traveling w/a party of 6. Are there cabs for 6 people? #2 - How do we make sure our cab driver doesn't take the "scenic" route? #3 - If we're stopping at Total Wine, would it be better to have the cab driver sit in the parking lot while we run in and grab our order (our orders will be pre-paid and waiting for us, and at least one person would stay in the cab) or call a second cab to take us from Total Wine to the port? Thanks!!
Krazy Kruizers Posted January 6, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 6, 2011 Only a van can take 6 people and all your luggage -- and I haven't seen that many around the airport. People who do use the vans have ordered them ahead. You will need 2 cabs. Since you have your wine already pre-ordred from Total Wine -- have the cabs wait for you. We use cabs all the time in Ft Lauderdale and none have ever taken us on a scenic route.

sail7seas Posted January 6, 2011 #4 Share Posted January 6, 2011 Be sure at least one in your group stays in the taxi. Don't leave all your luggage/carryons with none of you present. The taxi driver won't mind waiting as he will keep the meter running.
euro cruiser Posted January 6, 2011 #5 Share Posted January 6, 2011 For ease and comfort, I'd look into a pre-arranged car service that can transport you in a van. It probably won't cost that much more than two cabs, and you're splitting the cost six ways, so the individual incremental cost likely wouldn't be that much.
