carolinajane Posted January 7, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 7, 2011 We are long-time RCCL cruisers and are trying Celebrity for the 1st time 1/22/11 on Summit. I note on the boards that a lot of seasoned cruisers on that trip are using private local vendors for their excursions - is there any problem with Celebrity's shore excursion offers? Thanks! Rare Host Anne Posted January 7, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 7, 2011 Hi CarolinaJane ~ Welcome to Cruise Critic. There is nothing wrong with Celebrity's shore excursions. I think what has happened over time is that people have been attracted to independent tours becuase they are often less crowded, cost less and many offer flexibility. But many feel more comfortable booking excursions with the cruiseline because you don't have to worry about getting back to the ship on time. There are pros and cons of both. But there isn't anything wrong with Celebrity's excursions.
carolinajane Posted January 7, 2011 Author #3 Share Posted January 7, 2011 Thanks - we've used locals recommended by cc members a few times when we are at a port we've seen more than once, ready to try something different..
