Air through Princess

We checked on the flights we wanted for our Alaska cruisetour and the prices were the same with EZ Air and the airlines. My questions is: since we have air through Princess -- do we need to pick our bags up at the airport ourselves or are they directed to the Cook Hotel? We are flying in the day before and have made a separate reservation at the Cook Hotel for the night before and not through Princess. Thanks for you help.

You will have to claim your own bags and get them to the hotel yourself. Especially if you didn't book the hotel package through Princess.

Whether you have Princess transfers or not, you'll still have to pick up your bags at the airport baggage claim when you arrive at your destination. And in your case, you'll need to take your luggage with you to your hotel and then to the pier.

The one time we had Princess transfers pre-cruise, representatives met us at the airport after we got our luggage and they took our luggage (the pieces we didn't need during our overnight stay) directly to the ship.
