Adastra Gardens worth it for mixed group w/ kids?

We'll be stopping in Nassau in June on the Carnival Destiny. DH and I have both been to Nassau a few times, but this will be our first time brining the kids. We will also have Dh's parents who have been to Nassau many years ago.

We are planning on stopping by the Fish Fry as that it DH and I's tradition. I know Adastra Gardens is in the same area. Would it be worth stopping by with our group? We wouldn't plan on staying long- an hour or two. Our kids are relatively easily amused, though we have our own local zoo as well as Busch Gardens a couple hours north of where we live.

Thank you!

I would definitely recommend a trip to the zoo, my boyfriend and I have been once on our own and once with his five year old, we thoroughly enjoyed it both times and his son absolutely loved it.

Keep in mind that this is a small zoo/rescue so it has quite a different feeling from most of the zoos I've been to in the states and it is very garden heavy. That said, it is a lot of fun, they have peacocks, flamingos, and other birds wandering around. Also, the flamingo show is a little cheesy (still enjoyable though) but depending on the age of your children they might get a kick out of it. :)

If you're already at the Fish Fry, then why not? :) It's a very short walk from the Fish Fry. Check out the times for the lory parrot feedings so that you can plan your visit around them. That was my favorite part of the zoo. Feeding the parrots is really neat and would be fun for all ages.

Yes, I think that a visit would be enjoyed by all. Those who like to walk more can, and if you have those that like to sit and think, then there are places for that. When the flamingoes parade, the kids really enjoyed getting picked to be part of the ceremony. Even I enjoyed feeding the birds. It all was done well.

Our group (all about 30) enjoyed the zoo a ton. Feeding the birds was a huge highlight, and taking a picture with a macaw on our head!

I think some kids (older ones?) might think the zoo is kind of lame, because it's not like most US zoos with tons of big animals (it can't be- how would they feed them?) but I (who usually hates birds at zoos) really enjoyed looking at the different animals they had. They had a few larger cats so it wasn't all birds/reptiles.

They also have a petting zoo with farm animals.

The zoo admission is kind of pricey ($15) but it was worth it for us.
