jay588 Posted January 13, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 13, 2011 I will be leaving on Sunday for my first RCCL cruise and had a question about the expense account>> I have only cruised with carnival and when I set up that on board account I use a credit card and just pay guest services on the last night of the cruise with cash. I do that because I do not want anything charged on my credit card and it is easier to do it that way instead of a cash on board account. Does anyone know if RCCL allow me set up my onboard account with my credit card and pay cash at the end of the cruise @ guest services or not? pltag Posted January 14, 2011 #5 Share Posted January 14, 2011 No problem handling your account this way. However, you do NOT want to wait until the last morning of the cruise to take care of this. The lines at the desk are brutal. I know you mentioned the "last night" of the cruise ....... that's the best way to go. Even if you wind up with a small balance on the card or pad your last cash payment with enough $$$ for a few drinks...... it's better than the crowds in the morning. Enjoy your cruise!!! :)

Enjoy your cruise!!! :) This is very good advice! I paid my balance in cash the last night with only 2 people in front of me in line. Upon going to breakfast the next morning the line was ridiculous!!! Enjoy your trip!
COMBOY Posted January 14, 2011 #7 Share Posted January 14, 2011 One other thing to note you should be able to view your onboard account via your interactive cabin TV 24/7. I would also agree with others to settle your account with cash the night prior to departure. Should you have any further charges up to 2AM on the day of departure will automatically be charged to your credit card.
Rare chasinraynbowz Posted January 14, 2011 #8 Share Posted January 14, 2011 Can you use all cash instead of a credit card and then cash? I would MUCH prefer to do it that way.

You should be able to set up a cash account -- I do believe they contact you when the balance is getting low and then you can put more on the account or give them a charge card. -- You can also set up a charge account and pay cash to your balance during your trip -- my cousins did this and had a good week in the casino -- everynight they were throwing some of the winnings to the account! No worries about it getting low. Tips are prepaid, excursions will be paid for in advance and we dont drink. I always put in way more than we will use.... just in case! I have cruised Carnival and Princess and on both I put cash on our account as we boarded and closed our account the last night before dinner. Very easy. What do you mean by a "charge account". Isn't that the same as paying with cash the first day?
