Miami Hotel Mar 18

I am having a difficult time finding a decent hotel for this one night. I don't want to spend more than $150. I have looked at the Continental POM but the reviews are terrible. Is it really that bad for just one night? As long as it does not have "bugs" I can live with it. Any other suggestions. I need to be near a CVS or Publix and restaurants all within walking distance. Anybody heard of Extended Stay Brickell - POM? Help!!!

I would like to know the name of the hotel and its location so I can call them and ask what they have as how far are restaurants and drug stores in their vicinity before I book.

If you want to consider areas besides downtown near POM the Blue Lagoon area near MIA has Publix, dining and other shopping options (liquor store:D) within walking distance (across the street from the Hampton Inn - 5 min walk from several others). Most offer free shuttles from MIA and a cab to POM will be under $30 including tip -- about what it would cost you to cab to the hotels you mentioned.

Good luck! :)

Have you ever used priceline? You can research the hotels in specific areas, star levels, etc. before placing a bid. Also look at biddingfortravel.com to see prices/hotels others have won on priceline. Keep in mind that you can't cancel, and are charged for the amt. immediately.

Good Luck!

Not surprised about the hotels in Miami on a weekend in March especially later in the month. Don't stay at the hotel you mentioned...have never stayed there but read the reviews and gone by it a couple of times. If you are only staying overnight one night, maybe something near the airport might work. While not a great choice in trying to enjoy Miami and the beach, it is my understanding there are some more reasonable options. I would try priceline or hotwire as well.
