ORANGEinINDY Posted January 25, 2011 #26 Share Posted January 25, 2011 As previously reported there is a conversion calculator on the RCCL C&A site. I know a little bit about web-based calculators... theirs accommodates cruise credits up to 500 :eek: but for practical purposes, here is their official conversion table for 1 through 100 Cruise Credits, which takes you up to the new Pinnacle level: The format is Old Cruise Credits => New Cruise Points => New Membership Level 1 => 8 => GOLD 2 => 15 => GOLD 3 => 22 => GOLD 4 => 29 => GOLD 5 => 38 => PLATINUM 6 => 45 => PLATINUM 7 => 52 => PLATINUM 8 => 69 => EMERALD 9 => 76 => EMERALD 10 => 83 => DIAMOND 11 => 90 => DIAMOND 12 => 97 => DIAMOND 13 => 104 => DIAMOND 14 => 111 => DIAMOND 15 => 118 => DIAMOND 16 => 125 => DIAMOND 17 => 132 => DIAMOND 18 => 139 => DIAMOND 19 => 146 => DIAMOND 20 => 153 => DIAMOND 21 => 160 => DIAMOND 22 => 167 => DIAMOND 23 => 174 => DIAMOND 24 => 181 => DIAMOND PLUS 25 => 188 => DIAMOND PLUS 26 => 195 => DIAMOND PLUS 27 => 202 => DIAMOND PLUS 28 => 209 => DIAMOND PLUS 29 => 216 => DIAMOND PLUS 30 => 223 => DIAMOND PLUS 31 => 230 => DIAMOND PLUS 32 => 237 => DIAMOND PLUS 33 => 244 => DIAMOND PLUS 34 => 251 => DIAMOND PLUS 35 => 258 => DIAMOND PLUS 36 => 265 => DIAMOND PLUS 37 => 272 => DIAMOND PLUS 38 => 279 => DIAMOND PLUS 39 => 286 => DIAMOND PLUS 40 => 293 => DIAMOND PLUS 41 => 300 => DIAMOND PLUS 42 => 307 => DIAMOND PLUS 43 => 314 => DIAMOND PLUS 44 => 321 => DIAMOND PLUS 45 => 328 => DIAMOND PLUS 46 => 335 => DIAMOND PLUS 47 => 342 => DIAMOND PLUS 48 => 349 => DIAMOND PLUS 49 => 356 => DIAMOND PLUS 50 => 363 => DIAMOND PLUS 51 => 370 => DIAMOND PLUS 52 => 377 => DIAMOND PLUS 53 => 384 => DIAMOND PLUS 54 => 391 => DIAMOND PLUS 55 => 398 => DIAMOND PLUS 56 => 405 => DIAMOND PLUS 57 => 412 => DIAMOND PLUS 58 => 419 => DIAMOND PLUS 59 => 426 => DIAMOND PLUS 60 => 433 => DIAMOND PLUS 61 => 440 => DIAMOND PLUS 62 => 447 => DIAMOND PLUS 63 => 454 => DIAMOND PLUS 64 => 461 => DIAMOND PLUS 65 => 468 => DIAMOND PLUS 66 => 475 => DIAMOND PLUS 67 => 482 => DIAMOND PLUS 68 => 489 => DIAMOND PLUS 69 => 496 => DIAMOND PLUS 70 => 503 => DIAMOND PLUS 71 => 510 => DIAMOND PLUS 72 => 517 => DIAMOND PLUS 73 => 524 => DIAMOND PLUS 74 => 531 => DIAMOND PLUS 75 => 538 => DIAMOND PLUS 76 => 545 => DIAMOND PLUS 77 => 552 => DIAMOND PLUS 78 => 559 => DIAMOND PLUS 79 => 566 => DIAMOND PLUS 80 => 573 => DIAMOND PLUS 81 => 580 => DIAMOND PLUS 82 => 587 => DIAMOND PLUS 83 => 594 => DIAMOND PLUS 84 => 601 => DIAMOND PLUS 85 => 608 => DIAMOND PLUS 86 => 615 => DIAMOND PLUS 87 => 622 => DIAMOND PLUS 88 => 629 => DIAMOND PLUS 89 => 636 => DIAMOND PLUS 90 => 643 => DIAMOND PLUS 91 => 650 => DIAMOND PLUS 92 => 657 => DIAMOND PLUS 93 => 664 => DIAMOND PLUS 94 => 671 => DIAMOND PLUS 95 => 678 => DIAMOND PLUS 96 => 685 => DIAMOND PLUS 97 => 692 => DIAMOND PLUS 98 => 699 => DIAMOND PLUS 99 => 706 => PINNACLE 100 => 713 => PINNACLE Theron So.... where does the 3 points below (cut and pasted from Royal WEB) It frosts me (just a little) that they have a formula that leaves you 3 points shy of Emerald level with a basic seven 7 day cruises... that's half a cruise. angelicee Posted January 25, 2011 #27 Share Posted January 25, 2011 Okay, thanks. I did a 4 day and a 7 day and have 15 points, no suite. Wish I had the $$$ for that. Must be nice. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

M. St. Louis Posted January 25, 2011 #29 Share Posted January 25, 2011 There is no night to give back to you. There is an assigned conversion value, stated in Theron's first post on this thread. Well that sucks. I understand (and agree) that they wanted to grandfather folks in so no one lost a level that they had earned, but I so no reason why someone with two 3 night cruises should be assigned the same points as someone with two 9 night cruises. They've switched to a new system that recognizes that nights stayed are what's important, yet not recognized previous stays. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

OK.... done venting Hope you're doing well Theron! Hey Bill, I'm doing well! I assume that they start the new points system at 3, because that's the shortest cruise you can normally take. The Gold level of C&A starts after your first cruise (formerly 1 "credit"), so the entry level would have to be able to accommodate the shortest cruise. I wonder if there will be a few "first time RCCL" cruisers who take a future one or two night inaugural cruise with a new ship, and end up short of Gold status. :) I would imagine very few people on an inaugural would not already be C&A members, but it's probably possible. Trumpeter Posted January 25, 2011 #31 Share Posted January 25, 2011 I ended up lucky I guess... my past cruise nights add up to 74, including a double 7 night count for a cruise in a suite. Short of Diamond by one 7 nighter. I had 10 old credits, all for 7-night and longer sailings, with a couple of double credits for 12 night+ sailings. The conversion table gives me 9 more points than I've actually earned at sea..... not that I'm complaining or anything ;) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Theron Your initial thought is correct, Theron. There are no one or two night inaugural cruises. There are sometimes one or two night PRE-inaugural cruises, but since they are by invitation only, and there is no charge for them, they do not earn cruise points. :) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Rare TPKeller Posted January 26, 2011 Author #34 Share Posted January 26, 2011 In the conversion process, it looks like RCCL intended to and succeeded in making sure everyone stayed at the same level they were before. The next level of concern seems to be "how long until I reach that next level?" I added information to the original chart (in Post #1 of this thread) that indicates two things: 1. How many "credits" away from the next level you were under the old system. 2. How many "points" away from the next level you are under the new system. The significant factor here is that they have created a new level, Emerald, between Platinum and Diamond. So those folks who had 5, 6 or 7 credits would formerly be striving for Diamond, but now look ahead to Emerald. Human nature what it is, I'm sure those folks are actually looking ahead to Diamond as well, so I added the required points for both levels, and for these folks, Diamond was pushed out a little farther than before. Assuming a standard 7 day cruise as a "normal", for the most part (except the 5, 6 and 7 credit holders), the number of cruises required to reach the next level is the same. For those who were counting on 3/4 day cruises to build credits... well, obviously, it is. icannotswim Posted January 30, 2011 #35 Share Posted January 30, 2011 Theron, Thanks for the explanation. I thought I should have 40 cruise points based on the number of nights on previous cruises instead of 38 points I was given. I emailed Crown & Anchor but their reply only confused me. Your explanation is clear but how did you get the "magic" formula they came up with? And, I wonder how they came up with it. Anyway thanks. I'm not sure how they came up with the formula (3 parts, based on your previous credit level), but cruisenfever describes it accurately in the thread he started, and linked up at the top of this thread. The conversion table came from the RCCL calculator web page. They didn't compute the conversion, they just used a table, which I cleaned up and posted in my first post. DarthGrady Posted January 31, 2011 #37 Share Posted January 31, 2011 Figures! I could almost taste me Diamond status after the cruise in 3 weeks. Dang' date=' I feel robbed! :([/quote'] Contact Crown and Anchor, they may make an exception for you since you were only 1 cruise away. They are granting us Diamond after our Radiance cruise next month (in a JS) even though we will only have 77 points. Of course it will take us three extra points to make D+, but thats so far away its hardly worth worrying about. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

They mentioned adding additional cruise points could be an option for slow selling cruises, so they might do the same for the 2 nighters. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Right click on the ribbon, and then "View Background Image", then "Save Image As" to save it to your computer. Then you can upload it to your signature. Hope that helps!
