Water Island

We have plans to go to Honeymoon Beach on Water island on our 30th Anniversary for a quiet getaway for a few hours. I don't see a lot written about it, but if anyone has been there recently could you just confirm this would make for a relaxing getaway. I also understand that there is food and drink available near the Beach as well. Would appreciate the feedback of those that have been there recently.

Many Thanks;

We did a cruise on Eurodam that stopped at the Crown Bay Port and we did not know about Water Island until too late. WE talked to a couple that did the ferry there ( 10 min ride) and said it was a short walk to the beach and it was fantastic. WE will be trying this beach this time from the other port area. Heard it was a 4$ cab ride to the marina by crown bay. The water taxi starts in front of Tickles Restaurant in the Marina. The cost is 10$ pp round trip.

The times can be found online.

Honeymoon Beach is a popular stop for some of the day sails, and the Water Island Bike tour also stops at Honeymoon, so there may be more people there than usual depending on when you go. Best to get there early, but usually food doesn't arrive until 11 or noon, I think.

Are there restrooms there?

Yes and they are very clean. It's a very quiet beach until about noon. Then the day sailors arrive and it gets a little noisy till about 2 PM. Then they sail off and it reverts back to quiet again. Nice place but you have to walk about 1/4 mile to get there. Half uphill and half downhill. No chair rentals but they have picnic benches and some pavilions. Not good for snorkeling. Great for swimming or just relaxing on the beach.

We were thinking of doing this but then again, maybe it is just easier to do Sapphire Beach, which we have not done any of the times we have been to St Thomas. How do the 2 compare? It is a toss up in terms of $ to get there. Going to Honeymoon beach will cost 20$ for 2 of us to do the water taxi and then 16 for the cab back and forth since we are at the other port. ( 36$)

Sapphire will be 10$ each cab fare each way which is 40$.

I think ease of getting to a beach, Sapphire will win. But other than that....need info pls.
