Splendor Arriving in SF - Pics

Got up way too early for a Sunday but it was worthwhile. It was a beautiful morning in San Francisco, sweater weather in January gotta love it. Met another CC'r (Hi Steve) who was also taking pictures. We started at the GGB and then moved to AT&T Park and finally to near the dry dock. For all those worried about near cruises she was under her own power and looked just fine, keeping fingers crossed for all of you. Just finished uploading enjoy:

When I woke up this morning (late) I turned on my computer to see the tracking of where she was and was disappointed to see she was already in and under both bridges and less than 1/2 hour to being docked. It was such a treat to see your wonderful photographs and now I don't feel so terrible about not being able to get there and see her for myself. Maybe I can watch her leave.

My son and I drove from San Jose to San Francisco at about 6:00 this morning and arrived at the SF Yacht Club parking lot about an hour before Splendor came through the gate. Better early than late! It was nice to have Sharon and her DH for some company while we waited.

Most of these photos are of Splendor but we did take some while waiting for her to arrive.

Did you spot someone in a white hoody darting down Pier 14 off of Embaracadero? lol! That was me. I happened to be driving down to San Mateo, over the bay bridge and spotted a flash of red off to the right...I honestly did not expect her here this soon! I floored it to the Embarcadero, didnt pay for parking and ran.....:o Felt like a giddy schoolkid...but it was so cool. By pics are horrible because all I had at the time was my phone.

Not only did Splendor arrive in SF yesterday but so did it's new diesel engine.

How do you transport a really big diesel? In a really BIG plane!

Thanks to Bill for letting me post his pictures.

Is that the same "Antonov" that was used in the movie 2012 ?

Whoa... That is *so* cool! The damage must have been pretty extensive to require a whole new engine. Wouldn't you love to see shots of the engine room? :D
