underthemoon53 Posted January 25, 2011 #1 Share Posted January 25, 2011 Ladies I need to your help. I am looking for dyeable heels at a decent prices. They are for my MOH and we found her dress for only $15 dollars and its bascially the same one you could get a David's Bridal for $99 dollars. Since she spend so little on the dress I would hate for her to spend a ton on the shoes. Anyone know of a website or store I could go to?
swalton85 Posted January 25, 2011 #2 Share Posted January 25, 2011 i know payless has a selection of dyeable shoes. i'm not sure of their color selection or how many choices they have but i'd check there first. what is her dress color?
klauer Posted January 25, 2011 #3 Share Posted January 25, 2011 I think that it looks a lot more modern to go with a silver, gold, nude, etc. sandal or shoe based on the color of the dress. Dyed-to-match shoes look very 80s to me, and I should know, because that's when I got married!
pnwgirl164 Posted January 25, 2011 #4 Share Posted January 25, 2011 Zappos is great! Just search "Dyeable." I came up with these heels I thought were really cute too http://www.zappos.com/touch-ups-asher-white-dyeable-satin
swalton85 Posted January 25, 2011 #5 Share Posted January 25, 2011 i agree, i'm not a fan of the dyed shoes... it's too matchy matchy. my girls are wearing silver strappy sandals. but it's all up to the bride and what she wants :)
klauer Posted January 25, 2011 #6 Share Posted January 25, 2011 The other thing I wanted to mention is that you can wear silver sandals again many times vs. a pair dyed (for example) lavendar or teal. Those pretty much scream "bridesmaid"!
underthemoon53 Posted January 26, 2011 Author #7 Share Posted January 26, 2011 Shes wearing a black dress, so I was going to dye the heels a dark purple (our wedding colors are black, white, and purple). I think it will make the outfit pop more with a colored heel. Thanks for you advice girls!!!!
VM_Mom Posted January 26, 2011 #8 Share Posted January 26, 2011 This is where I found mine. Huge selection and reasonable prices. There is a return policy in case the size doesn't work. http://www.bridalshoes.com/

klauer Posted January 26, 2011 #11 Share Posted January 26, 2011 Couldn't your just MOH wear a really cute pair of black heels? She would have a huge selection of styles and prices, and wouldn't have to coordinate the purple with her other clothes.
RonneyKay Posted February 5, 2011 #12 Share Posted February 5, 2011 I have been looking at bridal magazines and a cool trick i saw in one of them is to pin a silk flower onto the strap of the color of choice. That way she could have a color of shoe to re-use, but with a little punch (i wish i could remember what magazine i saw this in) Ronney
LilBlackDress Posted February 5, 2011 #13 Share Posted February 5, 2011 I managed a shoe store many moons ago that had dyeable shoes. They are extremely uncomfortable. Even the flats would cause blisters. I don't know if they corrected the problem with them over the years but I wouldn't want to do that to someone I cared about. I like the silk flower idea and you could check into dying a leather shoe. Some shoe repairs will still dye leathers.

Some shoe repairs will still dye leathers. I agree; I didn't even know people did this anymore. Also look into jeweled shoe clips to go with a pair of shoes she may already have. I have no experience with this seller, but here's a site with some examples: http://www.absolutelyaudrey.com/
