FCC-charged to credit card or sail and sign?

Hopefully, I will be able to word my question so that you can understand. When you buy a FCC, do they charge your sail and sign $250 then also credit your sail and sign $100? On Carnival, they charge your credit card separately as a purchase (it shows up when you get home) and not your sail and sign.

I am asking this because if we go on a three-day cruise and buy three FCCs it would generate a $300 OBC which we will not use on a three day cruise. In the past, we would always have a high casino bill but with the talk of the 3% surcharge we will not be charging our room.

Thanks for your help.

I may mess up trying to answer, however here goes. The FCC or as NCL calls it Cruise Rewards is charged to key card/room account. ($250.00) You get an automatic OBC of $100.00. Therefore you pay $150.00. If you pay your bill cash, it's paid before you leave the ship. If credit, $150.00 (FCC) will be charged to your credit card with whatever other charges you have for the cruise.

You will have $250.00 for a future cruise deposit.:D

You will charge 250.00 to your credit card. You will be charged that on your credit card bill. While you are on the ship you will receive a 100.00 on board credit. The credit card company has nothing to do with your OBC, they will bill you 250.00. I don't know if you can pay cash at the end of the cruise but, at that time, I would imagine they would take the 250.00 and take 100.00 off your bill. It could be for tips, or whatever.

You will not be charged $250 on your CC. If they buy three future cruise deposits, $750 will be charged to their onboard account. Then $300 will be credited to their onboard account. So net charge to their onboard account will be $$450.00. No worries about having time to spend the OBC, let it come right off the Future Cruise Credits.

Are the FCC's transferrable? IIRC you can only use them for one cabin, but can I purchase one and give it to my DD to book her own cabin?

Yes, I just had two transferred to me and then transferred one to my DS. This is the 4th time I've transferred them to others so they can cruise with us.:)

Just call 1-866-234-7352, give them your Latitude number and the Latitude number of the person you want to transfer it to. They say it may take 3 days but they are usually available to the person it was transferred to in 1 or 2 days.

I dont know if this makes sense, but when we were on the star in October, and some friends of ours wanted to buy more than one but you can only apply one per cabin not per guest..

You can buy up to 4 FCC's per person while on a cruise. It is true you can only use one per cabin, but you only need one per cabin. It covers the deposit for everyone in the cabin. This is for all except for the upper suites. For the upper suites (above penthouse, I think) you can still use one but must also pay the balance of the deposit due.
