What's up with this? "Q" Guarantee Higher Priced than Specific inside Cabin?

Why would a guarantee"Q" be higher priced than a specific set category inside cabin? What's up with that thinking????.... And why would one book a guarantee if it is higher priced and take a chance of getting the lowest category inside? I have seen this happen when I have checked pricing on a couple of cruises and just can't figure it out.:rolleyes::eek::)

Good question. I have seen similar guarantees lately that don't make much sense. Perhaps it's a strange glitch or quirk of Royal Caribbean's new website? :confused:

I have seen it recently where a residency or senior discount rate is lower than the guarantee.

Sure - you take the chance that you get the lowest catagory inside. But, if you are a gambler.....you might hit paydirt and get an outside or higher cabin, too.

For my Jewel cruise in December (12/3), the price of balcony was cheaper than inside or ocen view. In fact, inside was the most expensive. No guessing required which one I booked :)
