Have you meet and kept in touch with people you met on a cruise

This must have been over 15 years ago my best friend and I were sailing on a Carnival ship (can't remember which one) and met a real fun guy in the casino. He was single but was sailing with his good friend and his wife. We met up every night at the blackjack table and on the last night of the cruise we said that we needed to do this again. Several months later we all met in Vegas and had a great time. We all had kept in touch and I wound up going on numerous cruises with him (just as friends) but he was a high roller and they always gave him the suites and treated us both like kings and queens. He knew all of the pit bosses and the hotel directors so I got to see the behind the scenes stuff on various ships. I probably went on 5 cruises (always on Carnival) with him over the years and have always kept in touch. Matter of fact I just saw him late 2010 and he is still a good friend. When I look back at those days I have to say that they were some of the most fun times I have had in my life.

YES! I have made many friends through CC Roll Calls. I'm in touch occasionally with some from 2007 & 2008 roll calls and quite a few from 2009 & 2010 roll calls. In fact, one from the Miracle 2008 roll call has become a good friend, and she even joined my sales team this week. :) I won't list all of my CC friends here, because it would be my luck that I'd accidentally leave someone off the list. :o Don't want to do that! But I will say that anniversarycruisin' and her DH will be cruising with us again on our next cruise in May. We are excited about cruising together again, after meeting on the 3/1/10 Triumph. :D In fact, I will be cruising with 2 or 3 other former roll call members on this cruise, as well. I love it!

YES!!!

Met a dear friend from New Orleans a few years ago on the Glory. Have stayed in touch and enjoy talking now and then. Her DD is now in college at one of our local universities.

Also met another couple on the beach in Costa Maya about 4 years ago. We became instant friends and have cruised together every year since. Matter of fact we had Dinner with them last night and will be at their house for a SuperBowl party on Sunday. They live about 3 miles from us. It is amazing how much we have in common and had never met before. Over the last 4 years we have shared many a laugh and a few tears together. DW and I love them as family(well better than some of our family!!)

I met Don and Renee on that same cruise. Vickie too ! I was the cruise newbie and although our schedules didn't match up, we did see each other on the ship. It is one of my cruising highlights.

A couple of years ago, we met a lot of people from our roll call here, last year a lot of us went on the dream together, some are going on the Miracle in March together and most of us are going on the Magic next Feb. So yep, we have lots of cruising friends!

we had a great roll call on the Liberty last year. On that roll call was a lady from Australia that was travelling the USA by herself. For 4 months before the cruise we chatted quite often through the forum and email. We met up before the cruise for her birthday, hung out during the cruise. Anyways we said that we would met up for another cruise, thinking that it would be in a couple of years.... ha ha. Her and i have our cruise booked for Jan 2012 and she is also planning to be on the maiden voyage of the Spirit in Australia. We are planning a trip to Australia in 2015 and you can count on all of us taking a cruise when we are there.

This morning I'll be boarding the Carnival Ecstasy along with about 100 folks whom I've cruised with before and now consider much more than mere friends... these folks are family.

About half of us got together here in Galveston last night to say hello again, hug, laugh and simply pick up where we left off the last time we cruised.

Yeah, a ship was our common focus but it's the people that build the lasting friendships...

Yes we have and it's fun! It's great...I have friends of course, but they don't have the same love (addiction?) for cruising that people I've met on roll calls here on CC have. :D It's great to know others who feel as I do.

I am booked on Carnival Glory with 2 girlfriends I met on previous cruises. I'm so looking forward to seeing them again and cruising together. :)

We have a couple that we met on the Glory in 2006 that we still visit, last year we backpacked with them to the bottom of the Grand Canyon! We are trying to get them to cruise with us again in October on the Miricle with our group that sailed on the Dream last year. That was a fun group, so we know have more great cruise friends!! Part of the Dream group is even meeting in Vegas in two weeks...Watch out Vegas you don't know what you're in for!!!

Claire: we are in the midst of thinking and pricing out the Miracle 8 day(Southern) Jan 5,2012. I have spoken with Carnival and they are pricing out doing Early saver vs and if possible Early Saver Group. When they get back to me I will be sure to let you know the details. I do know that we in order to get a group we have to have 8 4A or better for a total of 16 people. Talk to Denise and or Judy to see if they are interested as well!

If you find something great we might be interested. Since we have that really long cruise late this year I'm not sure we could make 1/12 but who knows. We would surely try. I will keep Denise/Judy informed, too.

See you on facebook.:D

We are friends with a couple we met on our first cruise 23 years ago.

We have been on 5 cruises together since, with 2 others planned that they had to cancel out of for various reasons. We live on opposite coasts, but we had one land vacation to Niagara Falls, and then met up with them in Vegas a couple of years ago, set up as a surprise for DW.

Met a couple several years ago on a cruise and made a connection that has lasted. We have suprised them joining them on another cruise a couple years back . We also have now made yearly trips, us to California and they join us in chicago and we stay at each others house and have a great time. In fact we are meeting them in a couple of weeks for another cruise out of San Diego. More like the sister I never had and now considered family not friends.

We keep in touch with people, we are cruising again with people this April that we meet on the Splendor and again in October with another lady. Meeting people on cruises is the best. I have more in common with people on cruises then I do with people in my own city

We have a couple we chat with from our 2005 cruise - we constantly say we'll do another one together, but the timing is never right. They haven't been on one since.

We had a great roll call going for our Liberty cruise in 2006, I still chat with some of the CC members from that one, but they don't sail Carnival any longer. Maybe one day when we try a different line.

On our HM cruise in 2009, we met 2 great couples, both of which we now facebook regularly. One of these couples is joining us on our 2012 Liberty cruise, am trying to peer pressure the other couple as well!

My DW and I were on the Carnival Victory in Feb.2010 with a group from cruise critic and loved it. We still keep in touch via e-mail,especially with sailorwife. We were also seated at dinner with 3 other couples and we also keep in touch via facebook. I think it is a special bond you make with others when you're on a cruise.

On our 2005 cruise we had met a couple via the CC board. They live in Canada and us in Florida. We met at the Meet and Greet and hung out all cruise long. They spoke of a couple they had met on their Hawaiian cruise 2yrs before and that couple also lives in Florida. Well come to find out the "other couple" live 6 miles away from us! In 2007 we all cruised together and still keep in touch!

Another couple who were our tablemates in 2001 live only 50 miles away from us and we have stayed very good friends with them.

So yes we have met many people and fortunately made Ship to Shore friends with the best ones!

We have met several people that we cruised with many times, including two couples which we consider to be some of our best friends in the world! Next January us and the other two couples will be going on our 5th cruise together in 6 years, not to mention getting together on land as well!

We have met some very nice people, and two hold a place in our hearts where we consider them family - Texman Al and Pechez. We met on the Conquest in 2007 and have since sailed on the Freedom and the Liberty with them (and a girls cruise on the Inspiration). They even traveled from Texas to Maine to visit with us twice. :D
