majosa Posted February 8, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 8, 2011 Ok for all of those past guest on the Fascination, we would love to have your opinion! Dh and i are going on her in Jan of next year. We only have one other cruise under our belt. It was the Fantasy when it was in New Orleans. Anyway we are excited but wonder what to do. The last time we never really did any of the shows cause we had late seating. I know to relax and have fun but what about some of the other things like tea time, art auction. Just some ideas would be so helpful! THanks ya'll!
groo Posted February 8, 2011 #2 Share Posted February 8, 2011 Anytime dining can help with schedules. Not sure what you enjoy, just check the schedules to see what's available. The last time we were on the ship they had a classic rock band that we enjoyed.
firefly333 Posted February 8, 2011 #3 Share Posted February 8, 2011 Why miss the shows because you had late dining. the nights they have one show its at 10:30, like welcome abroad show. The other nights the late dinner has their show at 7 pm. I cant imagine skipping the show? They make the shows so either dinner time can see them on purpose. I do the slot or black jack tournament about noon the first day. dont miss the past guest party (the invite will be delivered to your cabin) and the farewell show for free drinks. javamom Posted February 9, 2011 #4 Share Posted February 9, 2011 I agree, you do miss some shows if you have late dining. Not the major shows, but some smaller ones. I can get my Fun Times from December and tell you which we missed. I would try either early or anytime dining. We really enjoyed tea time, sushi, past guest party and farewell party. Take a highlighter and go over your Fun Times daily, marking things that interest you, Have fun!
SteelerCruiser Posted February 9, 2011 #5 Share Posted February 9, 2011 all kinds of things to do....they have the waterworks waterslide area on there now...was a little cold for us this past January but still fun if the sun is out not too bad.....We love the Comey shows....don't let late dinner put you off the shows.....they generally work the shows around the dinner times......just look in the fun times....we also like the trivia challenges...casino is okay.......best advice is go with the flow!!!Have fun!!! 5waldos Posted February 9, 2011 #6 Share Posted February 9, 2011 We enjoyed tea on the Conquest- they had a good pianist who played mostly light classical. It was lovely- very genteel and a nice break from some of the more crazy things that go on. Unfortunately on the Splendor it was not as pleasant- it was in a part of the dining room and just not the same. We have seen a bit of several shows- we always position ourselves to escape if we decide that it isn't worth it. We are rather laid back and this time I swear I will try more. But then again- reading, people and sea watching- not such a bad time.
lindan1020 Posted February 9, 2011 #7 Share Posted February 9, 2011 I agree with the suggestion of trying the 'any time' dining. We did this on our last cruise--last week--and liked it very much. Most of the shows really are excellent!
cb at sea Posted February 9, 2011 #8 Share Posted February 9, 2011 You can go to the shows with late seating...just get ready a bit before, and your shows are BEFORE dinner....not a big deal!

McDebbie Posted February 9, 2011 #10 Share Posted February 9, 2011 I always like the ice carving demonstration and we love to watch the try outs for the Legends show. The thing that makes it the best for us is getting on the roll call and then hanging out with people we met on there. We won trivia challenge with one group and on another cruise we won some kind of sing along. Good memories. :)
momof4girls Posted February 9, 2011 #11 Share Posted February 9, 2011 I was just on Fascination last month and LOVED it! No complaints! We actually only went to one show  because we were so laid back. ;) It was GREAT though! Also viewed some of the "fun things" (games, hairy chest contest, etc.) and they looked hilarious! Didn't take part though. :o I'd have to look at my "Fun Times" but I thought that all the big shows were able to be viewed by those with either dining time? I'm going on the same cruise as you next Jan, except for it will be two weeks later. ;)
