buckeyefan10 Posted February 10, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 10, 2011 I was wondering if Carnival provides free sea sick meds. I was told that they use to. Does the Casino take cash or do you have to use your S & S card. My mother likes the quarter slot machines can she use change. Thanks!

My experience has been that one can get complimentary seasick meds at the purser's office. I always bring some, but have never needed them. navybaby1113 Posted February 10, 2011 #4 Share Posted February 10, 2011 I'm pretty sure you have to pay for seasick meds on board now. Also, most ship (maybe all) have cash less casinos.
going to see the world Posted February 10, 2011 #5 Share Posted February 10, 2011 You can order them through room service...I forget how much they cost but it was very reasonable. :)
MindTheGap1918 Posted February 10, 2011 #6 Share Posted February 10, 2011 I'm pretty sure you could only cash out using your Sail and Sign card in the casino.
going to see the world Posted February 10, 2011 #7 Share Posted February 10, 2011 I cannot speak for all ships, but on my recent Sensation cruise we could put IN cash, but had to cash out on our S&S
lea Posted February 10, 2011 #8 Share Posted February 10, 2011 Up until my last cruise I could get sea sick medication free. On my last cruise, they charged $3. package both in the infirmery and at the pursers desk.
cb at sea Posted February 10, 2011 #9 Share Posted February 10, 2011 It's so easy to just bring some bonine....they're over-the-counter and cheap and weigh next to nothing!
serene56 Posted February 10, 2011 #10 Share Posted February 10, 2011 My mother likes the quarter slot machines can she use change. Thanks! I do not think they take the quarters= it does take bills. But if she hits she needs to cash out using her sign and sail card. Payouts are cashless
Koshlong Posted February 10, 2011 #11 Share Posted February 10, 2011 Just a note. It's NOT easy to bring Bonine if you're coming from Canada; it's not sold here! However, seasick patches are OTC, and I believe they require a prescription in the US, so I guess it balances out. Marnie
SteelerCruiser Posted February 10, 2011 #12 Share Posted February 10, 2011 Have heard you have to pay but have also heard you can get them free as well......maybe depends on ship. as far as Casino....you can put cash in machine but have to cash out using sail and sign card. and I believe if you attempt to put coin in it will fall through on most machines except for the quarter drop machines. klmorg Posted February 10, 2011 #13 Share Posted February 10, 2011 The seasick meds are no longer free. You can get them at Guest Services still, but they cost a little over $3.00 for four pills, which is actually four doses. I don't blame them for charging, I would if it were my business too. I think people should either bring their own or pay a few bucks... no biggie.

Just came across the packet of seasick (meclizine) meds... they charge $3.29 for two packets of two pills each (4 pills = 4 doses). Never needed them before, but on this particular cruise, we were rockin' & a rollin' big time
