sanmarcosman Posted February 11, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 11, 2011 My Sign and Sail statement for my 9 day to Mexico cruise aboard the Spirit totaled $2.50 and I started with a $0.00 balance! If only I hadn't been weak and ordered a club soda in the Versailles Lounge at Superstar Live the first evening. The bass player Chris was too easy on the eyes to leave for a sip of water.... How have others done expense wise?
cmdknw Posted February 11, 2011 #2 Share Posted February 11, 2011 Last year when the Destiny broke on us, we ended up with a bill of around $1300...too much time to sit on the ship and drink! lol

Average is about 325 a week including gratuities, Steakhouse one night and any onboard shopping..which I don't do unless there is a really good deal on something I want. Justsyd Posted February 11, 2011 #8 Share Posted February 11, 2011 Our last cruise...this past December...4 nights on the Paradise was around $250 for two. We did the Behind the Fun Tour, bought a soda card, a DVD, and did some light shopping.

tak81288 Posted February 11, 2011 #13 Share Posted February 11, 2011 Last cruise had a credit of little over $12.00. I had a weird OBC on my account upon embarkment (maybe a port fee/tax refund adjustment???) We prepaid everything and didn't make any additional purchases once we were onboard. elcuchio24 Posted February 11, 2011 #14 Share Posted February 11, 2011 With grat, usually around 300 total. The last two cruises we have had enough ES OBC where we got small checks at the end of the week. That's the best.
mjl1960 Posted February 11, 2011 #15 Share Posted February 11, 2011 My last cruise was about $1500...damn diamonds! Liquor was probably about $300 of that for two of us (mainly me - the lush).
saturnsc Posted February 12, 2011 #16 Share Posted February 12, 2011 I average about $1500-$2000 per cruise for two and I prepay my excursions.
Cindy Posted February 12, 2011 #17 Share Posted February 12, 2011 It doesn't seem to matter how much OBC I have, I always rack up a bill. Darn wine! I do prepay my excursions, but I always seem to end up doing one really expensive thing on board, like the Chef's Table or the Behind the Fun Tour. I'm boarding the Conquest next month with a Booking On-Board OBC, a stockholder OBC, and some credit from the Carnival Mastercard, so I'll see how we do!:p
parentsof5 Posted February 12, 2011 #18 Share Posted February 12, 2011 last cruise we did, we walked off with a check from carnival. ended up getting an OBC and didn't use it. Was your OBC from a price guarantee through early saver?
mimgan3 Posted February 12, 2011 #19 Share Posted February 12, 2011 March Freedom 6 nighter, with $100.00 OBC and a $250.00 cash deposit for S&S, we got a check back for about $144.00, tried smuggling got busted, but other members of our group got their through so alcohol bill not bad. We pay cash for gratuities, and any excursions we book privately. Tim

majosa Posted February 13, 2011 #21 Share Posted February 13, 2011 Wow i dont feel so bad now! We have only been on one cruise and being a lady i went nuts on the pictures! I bought almost every single picture we took. Like 14  Add in the drinks and little things to take back. Our bill was like almost 700. But to be fair to my DH i had gotten a part time job to help with those things. SO in the end our S&S was ok. Now i did spend way too much in the casino! But hey we had saved for almost a year and it was the best time of our lives! Woo hoo looking forward to next year. Oh and yes i will most likely buy a lot of pictures!:p
gargoyle999 Posted February 13, 2011 #22 Share Posted February 13, 2011 Just wanted to thank so many of you for keeping my cruise price so low! :p We just do chef's table or steakhouse one night, internet, tips and maybe $100 in drinks. No pics or casino for us. So between $300-$500 since I don't prepay tips.

Julitta Posted February 13, 2011 #24 Share Posted February 13, 2011 Hmm ours was $787 but that included $500 cash taken out at the casino for excursions (so not spent on Carnival), and the auto-tips for 3 of us (250?), plus DH won $50 at blackjack then quit gambling, so I guess we spent about $90 on a few drinks and things. DD (3) got addicted to virgin banana daquiris (the drink wif a berry and a umbrella mom) LOL
