efoote01 Posted February 12, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 12, 2011 We will be in St Thomas on 4/21/11 7-4pm. From what I see on the ships in port website there is only one other ship in port. This is during Springbreak so I am not sure how accurate this is. I was wondering if Magen's would be too crowded? I need a calm beach w/a sandy bottom. I am travelling w/a 7yr old who luvs to swim, my husband, & 2 parents who like to just float in the water...no snorkeling necessary. Is Magen's the right beach for us? Betsy's Mom Posted February 12, 2011 #2 Share Posted February 12, 2011 Magens sounds ideal for your party. Sandy bottom, shallow water, lovely floating water and plenty of room to spread out, also some shade. Magens is a large beach and should not be over crowded. Enjoy:) B. Based on the replies received when this question was asked a thousand times in the past, I would say Magen's is the perfect beach for your family. It also sounds like you'll pretty much have the place to yourselves...which is what we're counting on in a couple weeks when we're the only ship in port that day. caribsun Posted February 12, 2011 #4 Share Posted February 12, 2011 The last time we were at MB there was three ships in port. The beach was crowded right in front of the snack bar but just walk about 100 feet up or down the beach and there will be plenty of space.

O2B@Cagain Posted February 14, 2011 #7 Share Posted February 14, 2011 The cruise ships start repositioning for summer toward the end of April. If there is only one ship in, that could be part of the reason. Also Carnival will be starting up around that time, so look for some fun on the day you are in port!;)
alilspunk Posted February 14, 2011 #8 Share Posted February 14, 2011 If you sit farther away from the snack hut (to avoid the crowds), will the drink lady/guy still come over to serve you?
