Is GC the place to have a ncie meal?

The couple we are going on the cruise with said they have heard that

Grand Cayman is know for their food, I haven't heard much about that. I have heard it's pricey. Can anyone clarify or recommend a place for a nice

lunch... no chains. Thanks

Booze is highly taxed in GC, so drinking your lunch can get expensive in a hurry. :eek: We enjoyed outdoor dining, great conch fritters, and a few cold "Cay-brew" beers at Rachman's -- turn left out of the port, walk under 100 yards and it's on your left with a view of the ships. Good luck! :)

What type of food and style of restaurant are you looking for? A "nice lunch" can mean different things to different people... :D Burgers/fries or fresh lobster? Casual or fancy? Outdoors or indoors?

We did the same! A few beers and conch fritters. Great view and lively beachy atmosphere. Going anywhere else for a fancy meal could really cost you a bundle in GC.

For a nice setting and some delicious seafood near the port you might want to try Guy Harvey's Island Grill. It is a favorite spot for local business people as well as tourists.

I second the recommendation for Rackham's - we stopped in there on last Wednesday after our snorkel excursions and had a delicious meal of conch fritters (good but a small portion) and stew, fish and chips (some of the best I've ever had), key lime pie and beers. GORGEOUS view of the water and all the ships; we watched the tenders come and go while we ate. It wasn't cheap, though - our bill was $65 before tip.
