Malta - Maltataxionline tour

Recommended Posts

We are trying to arrange a 4 hour approx tour in Malta. What are the 'don't miss' places to see? We would like to see Mdina and Valetta (St John's) and anywhere else that would be recommended. We were planning to do this with maltataxionline - anyone have any information on this company?

Thanks in advance.

On the way to Mdina there is an artists colony that we missed (the bus was so full we decided just to stay on and go home). You might want to check that out if you are looking for classic maltese crafts. We spent a few hours in Mdina, you don't need a taxi for the Co-Cathedral, as you can walk to it from the harbour. You might want to take a drive around Marxaloxx (? can't remember how to spell it but say it like, Marshallox) it is a quaint fishing village. We did all this by bus but we were on a land holiday so I can't say how much time for sure. Have you thought about the Tarxian Temple and the Hypogeum?? Be sure to get your tickets online for the Hypogeum at least a month in advance as they allow only a few people per day. For that I would suggest the taxi as the bus service isn't reliable for such a short time.

Have a great time.

The cruise terminal is just below La Valetta center. There you will not need a taxi as La Valetta is not too big and in many cases walking Area.

Even when the Isle of Malta is roughly maximum 40 km all directions but the time needed and the 4 hours planned will not be easy.

- Mdina is indeed worth and could be combined with the Basilica of Mosta. both west/ central.

- Marsasloxx is great. Colourfull fishing harbour. But it is at the other side of La Valetta. (East)

- The hypogenum is limited in access and you need indeed pre-reservation via the websites of visitmalta. However if you need to be there at for exemple 9h00 it is not 9H15 or you loose and yr money and the visit! Wud not recommend it when you depend of a cruise.

Fearyou will have to make a limited choice... In La Valetta the Co-Cathedral is indeed a must and the main street.
