kitkat9438 Posted February 15, 2011 #2 Share Posted February 15, 2011 Looking for a good restaurant near the port of Miami for a pre cruise dinner any suggestions? Where are you staying? We stayed at the Intercontinental and it's just a short walk over to Bayside Marketplace which has several places to eat, such as Bubba Gumps, Chili's, Hard Rock Cafe, etc. Here's the link to check out the eateries. We also walked over for breakfast. http://www.baysidemarketplace.com/ We wanted authentic Cuban cuisine so we went to Little Havana to a place called Versailles. It was very good and cheap. You would have to take a cab there if you don't have a car, but it's not too far. There's also tons of places in South Beach if you want to take a cab down there. You might want to check out the Miami port of call thread for more suggestions.

Smoke Fan Posted February 15, 2011 #4 Share Posted February 15, 2011 We love Michy's. It's owned by Michelle Bernstein who was a contestant on "Top Chef". It was a cab ride from Intercontinental. Food is absolutely delicious and service was excellent. Here's the website - http://www.michysmiami.com Patty
chive Posted February 15, 2011 #5 Share Posted February 15, 2011 We ate at Michelle Bernstein's restaurant, Sra. Martinez, in January. It is a Tapas/Small Plates, Spanish restaurant in the Design District. The atmosphere and food are great and we highly recommend it.

Where is this in comparison with either the Holiday Inn or Marriott on SE 2nd? We love Tapas!
chive Posted February 15, 2011 #7 Share Posted February 15, 2011 Um, ah, er. I have no idea. Sorry. We were driven there by friends before our last cruise. I'm going to give my standard bail out reply - mapquest! Good luck. We think you'll love it.

YOW Posted February 15, 2011 #9 Share Posted February 15, 2011 If you have meat-eaters in your group, Grimpa Steakhouse is our favourite. Upscale Brazilian steakhouse, endless assorted skewers of meat brought to your table, plus a wonderful antipasto assortment, great caipirinhas and dessert. A little pricey but worth every bit of it. Short cab ride over to Mary Brickell Village.

cruzcat Posted February 15, 2011 #12 Share Posted February 15, 2011 Where is this in comparison with either the Holiday Inn or Marriott on SE 2nd? We love Tapas! It's just a 10 minute cab ride up Biscayne Blvd. from the Holiday Inn (Google Maps). We've got reservations there next week. A friend who lives in Miami says "you will love it". jeffreys1 Posted February 16, 2011 #14 Share Posted February 16, 2011 Another vote for Michy's. We went for dinner last week the evening before leaving on Century and it was wonderful.
sail2day Posted February 16, 2011 #15 Share Posted February 16, 2011 You can also try Zuma located at the Epic Hotel on Biscayne Boulevard. It is a block or two from the Intercontinental in downtown. Amazing food and ambience. The Zuma in London was voted one of the top 100 restaurants in the world. :)
sail2day Posted February 16, 2011 #16 Share Posted February 16, 2011 One other modestly priced restaurant in Fratelli Milano in downtown Miami for those who want authentic Italian food. Perricones off Brickell Avenue is also very good.
