rickcop44 Posted February 15, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 15, 2011 (edited) Just curious folks. This morning, I took another gander at my itinerary for my February 27 Legend cruise (hoping we'd changed from Belize to Costa Maya - no such luck) and I notice, for the first time, that a red star has appeared to the left of my name. There is no such star beside my wife's name. I searched the Carnival website, hoping to find out what the star meant, but no such luck. Anyone have any ideas what the red star means? xplor97 Posted February 15, 2011 #3 Share Posted February 15, 2011 I believe all it means is that you are the "executor" of the reservation.
rickcop44 Posted February 15, 2011 Author #4 Share Posted February 15, 2011 No, no, no that cannot be it! That's too simple! I want it to mean I'm the 2 millionth guest on Legend and I've won free Carnival cruises for life!
bumbles Posted February 15, 2011 #5 Share Posted February 15, 2011 Yes, it means that you are the primary guest.
near the beach Posted February 15, 2011 #6 Share Posted February 15, 2011 You are the primary guest and the lucky one responsible to pay for everything.
rickcop44 Posted February 15, 2011 Author #7 Share Posted February 15, 2011 Okay, I can understand that it designates the primary party (although my better half might disagree), but why would the star show up only yesterday? I booked this cruise last August.

norcal2 Posted February 15, 2011 #13 Share Posted February 15, 2011 As someone with a star in front of her name on the Carnival site, I will be greatly disappointed if the answer is something other than they recognise a star when they see one. SkyMaster Posted February 15, 2011 #14 Share Posted February 15, 2011 It means that you are designated to be the "STAR" of the guest talent show. They'll expect you to sing the entire score from "Chicago". I'll be waiting to see it on You Tube. Good luck. :D "SKY"

Good luck. :D "SKY" Trust me, if I've been designated to be the star of the talent show, there are going to be a lot of disappointed people in the audience. Oh well. Just thought I'd ask. But don't blame me when I get back from my cruise and tell everyone here I've won free Carnival cruises for life. 9 days, 22 hours, 56 minutes. Lady_Jag Posted February 16, 2011 #18 Share Posted February 16, 2011 Could it mean that you have not yet completed your Fun Pass/online check-in? Perhaps you have not indicated a credit card or cash option for your S&S? Check the bottom of your screen to see if there is a footnote explaining the *, or go into the Fun Pass/Check-in and see if there is a message on one of the screens. BaconIsGood Posted February 16, 2011 #19 Share Posted February 16, 2011 Im a Star too! I got the star on mine as well... Im sure its just because im the primary.
Cruisin Christi Posted February 16, 2011 #20 Share Posted February 16, 2011 My name has the red star but we are paying with a credit card in DH's name. So I don't understand why I would be primary. Maybe because I was the one who they booked first (meaning they took my info before his)?
Lady_Jag Posted February 16, 2011 #21 Share Posted February 16, 2011 Aha! I just looked at my second booking (the one booked directly through Carnival, not a TA), and see a red star next to my name on the Billing tab. It means you are the primary person who booked the cruise and the lucky recipient of the bill. :)
klo28910 Posted February 16, 2011 #22 Share Posted February 16, 2011 I noticed a star next to my name yesterday also. I had never noticed it before so maybe it is something new. I just assumed it was because I was the "primary" person since I have handled all the arrangements.

My booking shows my funpass/check-in complete. I've been paid in full for months. Maybe, maybe it's because I got an upsell call a couple of weeks ago from Carnival. The PVP wanted to upgrade me from my aft vista suite with the three acre balcony to the grand suite on Legend - all for only $500 more per person - and I turned him down. Yeah, that's gotta be it. I'm marked for life. Edited February 16, 2011 by rickcop44
