Intrastate travel in Florida

Every now & then I'll see posts here inquiring about transport between Orlando-Tampa, or one of those to Miami. The answer has typically been "rent a car." Saw an article in the local newspaper about a relatively new, luxury bus service; they have daily runs between those cities, as well as transport to a few other places (Jacksonville, Daytona, Tallahassee, Gainesville, Atlanta).

Price looked pretty reasonable - $12 pp, one way, between Tampa & Orlando; didn't look to see the cost of longer trips. The buses look very nice & comfortable - definitely far nicer than a typical Greyhound. Nice, leather seats that are larger & more spread out than a Greyhound. WiFi, TVs; almost looks more like riding in one of those high-end RVs than in a bus.

Just thought some might find it useful; I know for some traveling from out of state it's sometimes cheaper to fly into Orlando over Tampa (or vice versa).

Many times that's exactly the case. Sometimes you get a better deal flying into Orlando for a cruise from Tampa and folks need a way to Tampa. If you fly into Tampa a day ahead of a cruise some people like to go to Orlando for the theme parks or whatever else and need transport.

The Sunday edition of the Tampa Tribune had a nice article about this new service. They noted that the busses cost $500,000 each and only had half the number of seats that a bus this size would normally have. Sounded like a pretty good deal.
