number8 Posted February 15, 2011 #1 Share Posted February 15, 2011 We have already booked one of the (8) Celebrity Suites for our upcoming cruise on the Infinity. After doing some research, only (4) CS have sold and only (4) Royals have sold. I was wondering if the Royal suites do not sell, will Celebrity offer us a free upgrade from the CS to th RS ? We are CC members and I did notify them to put in our reservations notes that if offered would would accept the upgrade but only if it were free. Thanks
Xport Posted February 15, 2011 #2 Share Posted February 15, 2011 But I'd guess that status within Captain's Club [Classic, Select, or Elite membership level] and demand for the current stateroom category might also enter into the equation if they choose to upgrade at all... I think it's best not to get your hopes up, as you never know when the Upgrade Fairy will strike. A suggestion: depending on availability, you may be able to purchase an upsell on the day of the sailing. Inquire with the Pier Check-in Agent, to see if any there's higher Cabin categories available. I hope this helps. Enjoy your Cruise !

Andy Posted February 15, 2011 #5 Share Posted February 15, 2011 Thanks for the advice, I will definitely check at the pier when we get there. Has Celebrity ever offered this upgrade for free in the past ?? Hi Number8 ! I'm sure that some lucky guests have received a free upgrade... so anything is possible. The reason I said not to keep your hopes up, is that most cruise lines push hard to sell it, rather than give it away. Another item to consider : at times, Celebrity (and other lines) will keep an available Suite open, to give an upgrade away as a Bingo Prize the first night or 2 of the sailing. number8 Posted February 15, 2011 Author #6 Share Posted February 15, 2011 Here's to hoping then with 5 weeks left that they don't sell the last 4 Royal Suites. Thanks

Thanks If the price of your current catagory drops in the next few weeks I would call your Ta and see if they can upgrade you
LouisV Posted February 15, 2011 #8 Share Posted February 15, 2011 We were upgraded once from an aft cabin on Millie to a Royal Suite for free! The best thing was we didn't even ask for an upgrade. Imagine what a surprise it was to be escorted to a suite all the while thinking that we were downgraded from an aft cabin. It came with all the perks too! BBsails Posted February 15, 2011 #9 Share Posted February 15, 2011 For the Constellations Westbound TA in November, we were booked in a concierge level balcony cabin. Many weeks before the cruise, after checking for price changes daily :), I noticed Sky Suites GTY were going for less than we's paid for our cabin. (There'd been a $400pp resident rate that we weren't eligible for). Phoned our TA who moved us to that category. Several days later, we were assigned a handicap accessible suite, which we didn't need. I watched for a non-accessible Sky Suite to show up in =X= inventory, and when one did, our TA moved us to that one. The move was a lateral one, after final payment. Felix11 Posted February 16, 2011 #11 Share Posted February 16, 2011 How does one find out what staterooms are still available on a particular sailing?

number8 Posted February 16, 2011 Author #13 Share Posted February 16, 2011 What happens to the people if they have booked a QTY Suite and there are not any suites available? As of right now our cruise has 4 CS and 4 Royal remaining as of yesterday. I don't know how these QTY suites or the upgrades work but it would make sense to upgrade the people from the CS to the Royal Suites, if they remain unsold. It would seem fair to give the people that paid a higher fare the upgrade to the Royal rather than give them to a lower fare QTY. Just a thought
Booyakasha Posted February 16, 2011 #14 Share Posted February 16, 2011 Watch the prices on a daily basis. Celebrity may lower prices on the RS. They did this last week for us on Summit and we were able to jump from a RS to the PS for a very reasonable price. Both PS sold in the first day and all but 1 RS is now filled when there were 4 + open before. Lots of movement it seems as the cruise gets closer. B.
