Smoking section - BEST MACHINE by far was the Griffin's Gate. There was one machine near the Invasion of Planet Moolah machine and this one gave us bonus after bonus. There is one other Griffin's Gate machine was behind the table games and it paid pretty well too. We also played th Invasion of Planet Moolah which is a fun machine to play, but didn't pay very well. The Lucky Penguins were fun to play too...sometimes they paid and sometimes they didn't.

Non-smoking section - best playing machines for us were Majestic Wolf, Rose of Cairo & the Decadence game on the jewelly machine (this machine has several different games to choose from, but our group did best using the chocolate game).

GOOD LUCK!

Every slot machine in the world is set up to be like this. The trick is for you to be in the chair when it pays something. That's why it's called "gambling".

Some slots do pay off more often then others!

Yes, we realize we are gambling, but we did find that some machines were "looser" than others on a consistent basis. We are just reporting on our experience on the Allure.

All true. Each slot is programmed to give a long term payback % established by the management. Pennies are typically programmed to give the worst paybacks (87%-89%) of all denominations, yet they are the biggest moneymaker of all slots on the floor....more than quarter or dollar machines.

They (penny machines) usually have a high hit frequency but a lot of those 'hits' return less than the bet that was made. How many times have you bet the minimum (say 9 lines, one cent each) and your 'hit' gave you a win of only 5 cents? This could happen many, many times and give you the feeling the machine is "loose", but in time, you're actually falling behind.

For those who say the slots are "tight" (and there is no truth to either "loose" or "tight" being a legitimate description of any machine), there are winners in every casino..you just don't know about them. I have hit many times for wins over $1,000 and no one around me ever knew it. I do not let the machine's bells & whistles advertise that I have just won $$$. I don't need anyone around me taking a personal interest in my financial gains.

But playing the slots is all about fun anyway. Hopefully, the gaming Gods will be kind to you when you sit there.

We enjoyed the "spin poker" machines that were near the Amber Theatre entrance on the non-smoking side. These were multi-game machines, but we played the penny spin poker the most. We never won anything (we usually paid $5 or $10/night), just enjoyed playing until we lost our nightly budget. I did win $28 on a $2 play on another penny machine one night. Sorry...I don't remember which it was, but it was one of the multi-line games.

Just another form of entertainment for us...
