Piraeus Ships Tour v Own Tour

Docking at Piraeus and not too bothered about seeing Athens what else is there to do in the region?

Are we best doing a ships tour or has anyone any experience of doing a private tour here?

Have you tried asking your questions over on the ports of call boards here on Cruise Critic? There are a lot of people who are happy to give you ideas on what to see or do in all your ports of call.

I must be missing something please can you direct me to this 'Ports of call' board

Scroll down to: Ports of Call (Actually the SHORE EXCURSIONS is bigger in that section but don't click on that, its advertisement for different excursion companies) .... there you will see many countries listed. Click on EUROPE and you'll find it broken down even further on that board.

We are docking at Piraeus and not sure what to do is Athens worth a visit?

 

Is there anything else in the area that we must see

 

Again we would like to do a half day tour avoiding retail outlets can anyone comment on whether to do a ships tour (NCL Jade) or can you recommend a private tour that you have done with a private tour company.

 

Any tips/comments would be appreciated
