Porters available at Manhattan Cruise Terminal

Hi, We will be sailing the Jewel out of Manhattan. From what I've read you park your car near your ship. My question is are there porters in the parking lot or is there a designated area to give your luggage to the porters? My Mom, who requires the use of a walker/weelchair will be traveling with us and we're trying to figure the easiest way of checking our luggage in. Thank you

Pull up in front of the terminal, hand the bags over to the porters, then park the car. You can't miss the long line of cars waiting to do the same.

Since they changed the ramp configuration at the terminal a couple of years ago, this doesn't work very well, because you can no longer go from the second level after dropping your bags off directly to the third level to park. You have to exit the terminal complex and come back around north on 12th Ave to the motor vehicle entrance on 55th St. a second time...which can really take a while in traffic.

My suggestion for the OP is to go directly to the parking (3rd) level. After the bomb sniffing dog has done its job, you can drop your luggage and passengers at the elevator entrance. Then park your car and walk back to join your party. If there happens to be a porter by the elevator on the 3rd level you can check your bags there. If not, everyone can just get into the elevator with the luggage, go down to the second level, where you can check your bags and check in for the cruise. It involves minimal walking for the person using the walker or wheelchair.
