sunkey1 Posted March 12, 2011 #3 Share Posted March 12, 2011 I love to cruise in November - it's still plenty warm, but not hot. We tried October twice but had bad luck with weather both times as it's on the cusp of hurricane season. We also love March - again, plenty warm but not too hot. When I started cruising, decades ago, I always went in late May or June and would never do that again - it is HOT in the Caribbean that time of year. I also went in late January one year and on the way back it was beautiful, but the trip south was cool, almost too cool to lay out on deck. Also, if you have the flexibility and can cruise outside of the "popular" times, November and March tend to have good rates as well. Hope this helps! tiyana4 Posted March 12, 2011 #4 Share Posted March 12, 2011 It depends entirely on three things: the itinerary, time of year, and what you are willing to pay price-wise. Holidays (particularly Christmas-New Years, spring break and summer) are the most expensive times of the year. However, some itineraries are only offered at certain times of the year (i.e., Bermuda and Alaska).
firefly333 Posted March 12, 2011 #5 Share Posted March 12, 2011 I dont know how anyone can pick one best month. There is something good about cruising any month of the year.
Bunkie103 Posted March 12, 2011 #6 Share Posted March 12, 2011 If you're not cruising with children I would suggest you avoid summer and spring break. We've cruised in September, October, November, April, May and August (with kids) and never had a problem.
JennLuvs2Cruise Posted March 12, 2011 #7 Share Posted March 12, 2011 We typically cruise in June now since I'm in nursing school & only have the summer off, and DF can only take vacation during the summer months. We love cruising in June since we love HOT HOT weather! :p

BeccaBecca1713 Posted March 12, 2011 #15 Share Posted March 12, 2011 Any week of any month when schools are typically out (summer, Holidays, even President's Day week) will usually be higher priced as they are deemed "peak" times. Last year I took a gamble and went in October cause the prices were so great (d/t peak Hurricane season). My gamble paid off and I'm going in Oct again this year. My DH and I agreed that all we cared about was being on the ship and away from work, so if we encountered crummy weather, we wouldn't let it spoil our vacation as a whole.
