Boatingmom Posted March 13, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 13, 2011 First time on Carnival. Princess had bratwurst and fries. What else is available with the burgers and dogs? Any sides? Also RCL had Chocolate Chip cookies avail 24/7. Anything like that on Carnival?
firefly333 Posted March 13, 2011 #2 Share Posted March 13, 2011 they have sauteed mushrooms and onions and potato salad and cole slaw. plenty of stuff to go with the burgers. cookies change from day to day and are not 24/
H82seaUgo Posted March 13, 2011 #3 Share Posted March 13, 2011 there's also the minute steak. and all the fixin's. add the salad bar, pizza and calzones, the dessert table, actual ice cream, and you will wonder why you have sailed on rccl. and we haven't even talked about the real food! food around the clock, which puts the cafe promenade to shame. BeccaBecca1713 Posted March 13, 2011 #7 Share Posted March 13, 2011 burgers, dogs, grilled chicken breast, chicken tenders, fries, chili topping, melted cheese topping, sauteed mushrooms. as for cookies, unlike RCL, you can order a plate of cookies from room service for free 24/7 (if I remember correctly on RCL, you had to pay for room service after a certain time at night.) ATL2LAS Posted March 13, 2011 #8 Share Posted March 13, 2011 The chicken tenders are the best. Lots of salads available. Fresh fruit is really good.
goofycruiser Posted March 13, 2011 #9 Share Posted March 13, 2011 I had my first hot dog on a cruise in early February. It was amazing! Don't know why I never had one before but that will be one of my lunches from now on. Also they had fresh hot tortilla chips and various toppings too. Zada Posted March 13, 2011 #10 Share Posted March 13, 2011 You can also get a plate of nachos from the grill as I recall.
floodcasso2 Posted March 13, 2011 #11 Share Posted March 13, 2011 The Hot Dogs on carnival are GREAT. The chicken fingers are very good as well. If this is your first time on Carnival, remember to check out the Rueben sandwich in the deli. It's my favorite cruise-food item of all time :)
JennLuvs2Cruise Posted March 13, 2011 #12 Share Posted March 13, 2011 Mmmm.. Love the grill station :) I always get a cheeseburger with bacon & fries with nacho cheese sauce.
Sargent_Schultz Posted March 13, 2011 #13 Share Posted March 13, 2011 Chickens don't have fingers. The chicken parts they serve are tasty.

I always wonder why people make such a big deal of a small charge that includes the tip after midnight on RCL over here on Carnival. Dont you people tip for room service. Why is it such a big deal to brag you can get room service free for a couple of hours after midnight. The cookies are nothing like as good as on RCL ...I hate Carnival crumbly cookies. The ones on RCL are soft and good. Im very picky with cookies and have never eaten on on Carnival as I can tell they arent the big soft chewy kind. they are the crumbly kind. no thanks. kris12 Posted March 13, 2011 #19 Share Posted March 13, 2011 and back to the happy topic of food........the caesar salad with grilled chicken (at the pizzaria) is wonderful!!! and the calzone is worth the 10 minute wait!
Heirloom Posted March 13, 2011 #20 Share Posted March 13, 2011 Regarding the hotdogs..... .....without any doubt, easily the WORST dogs we've ever tasted. Don't know what's inside of 'em.....but doesn't even have the texture of meat ! The hamburgers are fine......but they only serve 'em very well done, so we cover with lots of ketchup ! The coleslaw is pretty good imho.
tandemcruzr Posted March 13, 2011 #21 Share Posted March 13, 2011 The hamburgers are fine......but they only serve 'em very well done Probably have to from a safety stand point. Seems like all restaurants now have warnings on their menus about 'undercooked' beef, pork, seafood, etc.

Rare marshalltp Posted March 13, 2011 #23 Share Posted March 13, 2011 I didn't get the impression at all that you were bragging or really making the point about it being free. I usually like Fire's posts but i think she is off the mark this time....ps....I'm outing myself....I like Carnival and RCL, maybe even Princess...
