Hi All!

If anyone is thinking about the Blue Lagoon Dolphin Encounter, it is Wonderful! We were very disappointed when we tried to book the dolphin "swim" and it was booked, so we went with the encounter. We were there last week and we LOVED it! We had a 10, 9 and 8 year old with us. They were very excited and got alot of interaction time with the dolphin. My picture of the dolphin kissing my son is priceless! We also purchased our groups video for $45. FYI-The water was FREEZING!!!! After the encounter, you have use of the beach area including the blow up toys in the water! They loved that! Pina Colada's were great too!!

thanks for the review! can i ask what time did the blue lagoon boat depart for the island? (or what was the excursion leave time) on the disney blue lagoon excursion it says you can stay for 3.5 or 5.5 hours, which i assume means you can take the 2pm or 4pm ferry back. Also did all of the swim/island only ppl go at the same time?

I "believe" our encounter time was set for 10:30 but we all had to meet in one of the theater's to get our bands put on our wrist and were escorted out to the ferry as a group. The theater was full! We had 2 ferry's filled. The boat ride to the Blue Lagoon was about 25 minutes long. The water was gorgeous and the mansions on the waterfront were just beautiful to look at! After our encounter we stayed on the beach till the 2:00 ferry came. The last ferry was at 4:00. Make sure you allow time to stop and get your pictures before the ferry gets there. We were rushing! I believe our ferry ride there was only Disney Dream people-whether they were doing the swim, encounter or just the beach! Once you listened to the class on dolphins, they broke you up into groups of about 25. You had a trainer and 1 dolphin to each group. Enjoyed very much!!!

I wholeheartedly agree with you! We were on a RCCL stop last weekend and did the Blue Lagoon excursion.

My partner and his Mom did the swim and I stayed on the dock to watch.

We were all blown away by this place. The trainers, the facility, the amazing dolphins were way beyond anything we were expecting and worth every penny.

We also purchased the DVD and are so glad we did.

That island the Blue Lagoon is on (Salt Cay) is absolutely beautiful -- the whole operation is like a resort in itself. I'd love to have stayed right there for a few days! Even the boat ride over from the port area was fun.

Only thing we missed was the Pina Coladas. ... didn't see those  !!
