Water temps in Cabo?

Has anyone here ever been diving in the Mexican Riviera? We're taking our first cruise outside of the Caribbean, and I'm not sure I can handle the colder water of the Pacific. We'll be there in Mid-May, and I've been reading that water temps might be as low as 65 degrees at depth. True? If so, I will have to find a land excursion - I've gotten hypothermic in 85 degree water in Cozumel. My husband wants to try diving a different ocean, but I'm hesitant, to say the least. Am I just being a wimp? Advice?

I dove in Cabo late April/early May 2007 and the water temps were in the mid to upper 60's. I was a little chilly in my 3mm wetsuit (no beanie or hood), especially on the Pacific side. If I do it again I would wear my 5mm with hood. I am normally fine without a wetsuit if the water is 78 degrees or higher...3mm for 70-78 degrees. I hope this helps.

Oh, and I don't think you are a wimp. Dive in the conditions you are comfortable with...always go with your gut on these things.

Thank you very much for the info. If hubby wants to dive in Cabo, that's fine, but I'm staying dry! I can probably talk him into going ziplining, instead.
