On Board Snorkeling Equipment

What type of snorkeling equipment do they provide onboard? Is it the kind that you can go underwater with out water getting into the tube? You can buy this kind, but if they provide it, we won't take the space in our luggage. Would like to be able to go a little under the water a small distance, perhaps. We haven't snorkeled in about 10 years.

The snorkels that are provided do not have the check valve that you can get on some snorkels to prevent water from entering the breathing tube. Therefore, if you are more confortable with this type of snorkel you will need to bring it. The good news is that it will not take up a lot of space. We bring our own snorkels (with the check valves) and masks (although the ones on board are very adequate) and then use the fins and net bag provided on the ship.
