sunshinesusie Posted March 24, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 24, 2011 Our M&M group would like to have a sail away party on the Oassis. We are asking any past Oassis cruisers if you can reccommend a certain place outside that would not be crowded and close to a bar. We sail June 4th.:confused: Thanks Sue

Trekker954 Posted March 25, 2011 #3 Share Posted March 25, 2011 So is the plan to compete with the official Oasis sail a way party. You may lose some attendees if that is the case. There are many bars but with 6000+ passengers most of lounges are very crowded during sailaway. Also on the Oasis class there aren't as many places to hang outside for sailaway to actually watch pulling away. you'll need to go to the pool deck and higher if you want to be near a lounge to get drinks as well. Here is a list and photos of all the oasis lounges http://cruises.about.com/od/oasisoftheseas/ig/Oasis-of-the-Seas---Lounges/
BrianAlt Posted March 25, 2011 #4 Share Posted March 25, 2011 How about the upper deck of the Solarium? Nice bar right there.

VaBchNative Posted March 25, 2011 #6 Share Posted March 25, 2011 The May 14 Oasis Meet and Mingle group has elected the Sky Bar. "Sailaway Party is officially set at the SkyBar (Deck 16, starboard side). Immediately following the muster drill so that we can watch the ship pull away from dock at 5:00 PM. Wear mardi gras beads so we can identify each other as Cruise Critic friends. " There is a picture of the bar in the May 14 M&M thread (page 35?) __________________

We sail June 4th.:confused: Thanks Sue The best place for a Sail Away Party is the Wipe Out Bar on Deck 16 aft by the Flow Riders. For a Pre-Sail-A-Way (pre-life boat drill) Party Sky Bar located midship port side on Deck 16.
bajathree Posted March 25, 2011 #8 Share Posted March 25, 2011 Sky Bar located on deck 16 port side.....it faces Ft Lauderdale beach and all the condos when you are pulling out.
RenieRaider Posted March 25, 2011 #9 Share Posted March 25, 2011 The Sky Bar! Lots of room. Open and under the sun. It's a small walk up bar, maybe room for 6 people to SIT but lots of chairs, railings, sights to see. On the 'other side' of the ship is the Mast Bar...... that is for smokers. Ashtrays available there. Bon Voyage!
