Spender Nui Posted March 27, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 27, 2011 I'm going to post this on several boards. Earlier this month on a cruise we docked at Havensight, St Thomas. There was a new (open less than 1 week) Sr. Frog's right at the dock. I was able to pick up their FREE internet access and surfed for a while. Made me wonder if internet access is also available at other ports. Has anyone had this experience?

Spender Nui Posted March 27, 2011 Author #4 Share Posted March 27, 2011 were you on a hal cruise? hal has been for the last few years docking at crown bay and will be docking there for at least 6 more years i have seen the pictures of senior frogs at havensight -- looks lovely Interestingly it was the Emerald Princess which is also supposed to dock at Crown Bay for the same reasons.. I awoke to a pleasant surprise. We were sailing past the Marriott into Havensight. The Oasis and the NCL Sun were at Crown Bay. It seems the Oasis must go to Crown Bay and if Princess/HAl are scheduled in they stand a chance of going to Havensight. I have absolutley no information regarding NCL. FoxyTerrier Posted March 29, 2011 #6 Share Posted March 29, 2011 Yes - we have been able to pick up free internet from on the ship while in port or very close to port, but it is hit or miss. I love it :)
FLACRUISER99 Posted March 29, 2011 #7 Share Posted March 29, 2011 Take a walk arount the ship and check out the crew. The port of L.A. has free wifi that I discovered on the Sapphire Princess spotting the crew with their laptops on the Promade deck.
Queen of Oakville Posted March 29, 2011 #8 Share Posted March 29, 2011 I can use my phone in wifi mode, and found there generally was a wifi connection to use. I had previously purchased "Travel packs" through my cell provider, and next time I won't bother. I did however really miss any cell service on HMC. Thursday was at sea, and Friday was HMC, I didn't have "access" until we hit port on Saturday.
Gabruska Posted March 29, 2011 #9 Share Posted March 29, 2011 We were just in Grand Turk and I was able to get free WI-FI right inside of Margaritaville close to the bar, there is also a small smoothie shop and they had a free WI-FI there....In St.Thomas there was a small coffee shop with WI-FI, but I was using my AT&T coverage there since is US V.I. same in Puerto Rico AT&T coverage. BTW Puerto Rico was amazing and the best port I have ever been to.

piscesgal223 Posted March 29, 2011 #11 Share Posted March 29, 2011 There were a lot of people checking their emails in San Juan-a lot of free wi fi spots obviously. The funny thing was walking around Old San Juan and seeing...Starbucks! "Old" San Juan? Maybe not so much!
