teresa222 Posted March 31, 2011 #1 Share Posted March 31, 2011 This is our 1st Disney cruise. Is room service free? How is tipping handled? Thanx!!
single76 Posted March 31, 2011 #2 Share Posted March 31, 2011 From everything I've read on here, yes room service is free. It is considerate to tip $1-$2 each delivery though.
mom x4,grandma x4 Posted March 31, 2011 #3 Share Posted March 31, 2011 the room service menu shows what is free and then a few extra things that they do charge for. The prices are lsited so you cant confuse the free stuf from the stuff they charge for. Mostly they charge for candy, drinks, trailmix etc.. The regular foods like soups, sandwiches, burgers stc .. are all free.
bsddsc Posted March 31, 2011 #4 Share Posted March 31, 2011 and anything food or drink related which does have a charge has gratuity applied to it already. as someone else said, it would still be kind to tip a couple bucks anyway. When my friend's grandma was too sick to come to the table one night, our dining room server actually ran down to her room to bring her something for dinner. They gave him an extra tip for that. dexddd Posted March 31, 2011 #5 Share Posted March 31, 2011 Per the official literature - room service tipping "At your discretion" - know that doesn't help much.
alsotraveler Posted March 31, 2011 #6 Share Posted March 31, 2011 Items on the menu are free of charge. Drinks are extra. We keep a small stack of one dollar bills in the safe for tipping the person that brings the food. For a snack, I usually give them two dollars. For a meal, I would tip a bit more. Not all drinks are charged for. You will pay for canned sodas and alcohol. Coffee, tea, milk, lemonade and other juices are free of charge just as they are in the dining rooms and at the open deck self-serve beverage station. ollychelle Posted March 31, 2011 #8 Share Posted March 31, 2011 There are several items not on the room service menu that they will bring to your room as well. Our favorite- Mickey bars!!!
