Host Mick Posted April 4, 2011 #2 Share Posted April 4, 2011 Folks, You can't post contact info for travel agents. I would normally have whacked this post but it's too good to whack. It looks like the NYC and Galveston people are getting their wishes, sorry Baltimore. They've thrown in a Hawaii also. I hope that it's successful because I'd love to do that itinerary eventually. Interesting how the Fantasy is taking over the Magic routes and the Dream is taking over for the Wonder and adding the 5-day.

SpartyOn813 Posted April 5, 2011 #12 Share Posted April 5, 2011 Dang. We are doing a Med cruise summer of 2012 and was hoping for the same Disney itin but figured it wouldn't happen since they are doing rock bottom sales to fill the ship for 2011. Wish we could have gone this year. Oh well...
amyaphiiz Posted April 5, 2011 #13 Share Posted April 5, 2011 Any speculation if they'll continue out of Galveston into 2013? That's when we were looking at doing our next cruise and/or Disney vacation and out of Galveston is PERFECT for us (being in Houston and all!). PopFla Posted April 5, 2011 #14 Share Posted April 5, 2011 I'm guessing that for both New York and Galveston DCL has probably entered short-term contracts with the ports to allow them to gauge whether there's going to be enough demand to continue the service, and also to evaluate whether those ports are the most advantageous to DCL's bottom line. PoopDeckPappy Posted April 5, 2011 #15 Share Posted April 5, 2011 I'll be booking two trips out of NY come 4/8. Have been dying for this news for a long time. Glad to see it will be starting in May, I was thinking it would be later in the year for some reason. Best part of all, I don't have to deal with airports!!! buckirj1 Posted April 5, 2011 #16 Share Posted April 5, 2011 What I found interesting is Disney leaving Vancouver as an embarkation point after only one year. That's too bad, but I'm very happy to see Victoria added hopefully as a daytime stop.

That's too bad, but I'm very happy to see Victoria added hopefully as a daytime stop. We are planning a Disney Alaska trip for 2013 and I'm hoping they leave out of Vancouver. From what I have read, when they leave out of Vancouver, they go right into the Inside Passage which makes for a smoother and more scenic trip. mdvlprof Posted April 5, 2011 #20 Share Posted April 5, 2011 ooooo. Maybe I can talk DH into one of the Canada trips. Doing it this summer with Mom. But I do like DCL. And NYC is closer than going all the way to FL. [And cheap if we do Amtrak].

PoopDeckPappy Posted April 6, 2011 #22 Share Posted April 6, 2011 Not wild about New York and the expected itineraries. I can see how a lot of people would feel the same way if they are not from the NY area (in general not you specifically). One con is NY is expensive. So someone like me who lives in NY will "save" airfare by not having to fly to FL but in reality I'll be paying higher cruise fare so it winds up being all about convienence (have 3 little kids I'd rather not have to fly with). I wouldn't look forward flying into NY. I've sailed to Canada and loved it but personally I wouldn't do DCL to Canada given the cost of DCL and what Canada offers for younger kids.
