Houston is the closest airport. We have always had our cruise line also make our flight arrangements, so they provided a shuttle to port of Galveston. There will be a fee, but it's not very much. We have used both Bush and Hobby. Can't say one is better than the other. Good luck.

You've confused me. Hobby is closer to Galveston that George Bush which is on the north side of Houston.

Hobby is closest.......approx 45 min to an hour from Galveston, IAH is more like an hour and 1/2 from Galveston.

Use Hobby. IAH is an expensive transfer. And if you fly SW(Hobby) you bags go free of course. Another perk.
