We were in the PH, and had oodles of folks over for martinis each day.... There was a shaker in the butler's pantry, but one was not enough.... My travel kit includes a shaker and 2 stainless steel martini glasses (also called cocktail glasses). Many hotels won't let you near pools or hot tubs with glass so stainless steel works great. And you'd be amazed how much attention they get aboard ships. Even the waiters on ships are fascinated with them. And they keep cold slightly longer. And Bellybutton is right to be picky about ice when you are able: the sharper the ice the better the martini.:)
caribbean52010 Posted April 11, 2011 #29 Share Posted April 11, 2011 Yum!!! I should have thought of this sooner.... Did I tell you I love Martinis? This is a picture (if I can do this right) in Downtown Las Vegas.
bellybutton530 Posted April 11, 2011 #30 Share Posted April 11, 2011 My travel kit includes a shaker and 2 stainless steel martini glasses (also called cocktail glasses). I found them available at Target; will be headed there today.... Thanks. Many hotels won't let you near pools or hot tubs with glass so stainless steel works great. And I purchased a set of 6 souvenir martini glasses last Nov on Connie. Then, at a flea market, I discovered 8 mini martini glasses sitting all alone in a corner; now they are prominently displayed in one of my china hutches. Whatever I buy in the islands I use in the cabin; they're not trophies to me.... I love drinking out of my finest stuff. Doesn't make the cocktail taste any better, but it surely is nice to have a handsome vessel....
