Departing cruise ship passengers 'imprisoned'

Recommended Posts

Here is a link to an article in this mornings NZ Herald.

I thought it was a bit "emotive"

I have never heard of the Ellerslie Race Course being used as a check in, disembarkation location.

Has anyone on Cruise Critic been bussed out there?

It does happen overseas. We have had to check in for a cruise at Hotels, Function Centres , and at Singapore the Formula 1 building .

As a kiwi I have to agree with the article. Auckland berthing facicities for cruise ships are a disgrace.

Why oh why did they pull down the large cargo shed on Queens wharf when it was the basis for a good facility along with the one that was left?

Anyone travelling thro the San Francisco cruise terminal will know that with a bit of cosmetic upgrading, ex cargo sheds make ideal check in / bagage terminals etc. As it is, to spend 19 million dollars on a TEMPORARY building for the rugby world cup "Party Central" just doesn't make any senses to me.

Come on Auckland WAKE UP or you'll 'miss the boat' 's
