TxBubba Posted April 11, 2011 #26 Share Posted April 11, 2011 My family has done 2 spring break cruises on the Voyager out of Galveston. Sure, there are more families on board and a lot more kids, but we have never run into problems described on this thread. The ice cream and pizza places are always hopping but there wasn't the drunk, throwing up party crowd anywhere to be seen. Maybe RCCL hides it well? Anyhow. We are taking my 67 year old father with us this time. Not worried about it at all. My 2 cents. -TxBubba
Puffinater Posted April 11, 2011 #27 Share Posted April 11, 2011 We have sailed during "spring break" the last 3 years and we are booked again for next year. Yes, there are more kids but it has not had a negative impact on our cruise. Two years ago on the Mariner we watched a group of four get escorted off in Cabo. RCI will throw the rowdies off the ship. carkosh Posted April 17, 2011 #29 Share Posted April 17, 2011 We were on Navigator for a b2b from March 3-12. There were loads of college kids (did not see many younger kids) on both sailings but we found them to be, for the most part, polite & lots of fun. There were some problems as a few were kicked off due to vandalism (a couple of guys trashed an Owners Suite) & a few were kicked out of the casino the first night. We, though, never saw any of this. The ones we met inside the casino, or anywhere for that matter, were like I said above, very polite. We never heard any noise in the hallway when we were in our room although when we were walking around we could hear them at times. With all that said, we wouldn't hesitate to cruise again with college students; personally we've had more problems with the young children on other cruises. Rare hcat Posted April 17, 2011 #30 Share Posted April 17, 2011 I agree about many more problems with unsupervised younger children, In 2012, Easter is April 8 & Passover April 7th..what do you think of a 12 day cruise commencing April 10th? I am really hoping we will be Ok...had one bad experience on Jewel for an Easter week cruise out of Miami--do not wish to relive that one!! galavant3 Posted April 17, 2011 #31 Share Posted April 17, 2011 We've cruised over spring break a couple of time and while there were more kids on board, it was still very much a family atmosphere. For a week long cruise on the Freedom I think the price is a little high for the parent-less spring break crowd. At least from what we have seen.
