faynce Posted April 13, 2011 #1 Share Posted April 13, 2011 ***EDIT*** Why can't I post links? I can't even show you which cruises I'm talking about without links.*** Hello, folks. The wifey and I are taking our first cruise. We're buying the cruise in a week. We know for sure we want a Carribbean cruise. We don't really want to spend a ton of time in Cozumel and such. We really want to go to more relaxed islands for our first cruise - places that aren't full of 4 for $10 T-shirt shops and party locations. I would *really* love a stop or two where I can snorkel in crystal clear water. These are the cruises we are considering. Please weigh in on which one would be the best. http://*******.com/3nb2grx This first one is the most expensive (because we have to buy plane tickets to San Juan). This ends up being, with tax, $2300 for the two of us. We like the idea of this cruise the most, but the idea of spending that much for a first cruise makes us choke a bit. http://www.************/sc.do?d=06/01/2011&d2=06/30/2011&i=863201&c=1&v=406&IncludeAlumniRates=&IncludeSeniorRates=false&zipcode=28730&statecode=&dsc=y This second one goes through mutliple countries and is only $699 each before taxes. http://www.************/sc.do?d=06/01/2011&d2=06/30/2011&i=847811&c=1&v=436&IncludeAlumniRates=&IncludeSeniorRates=false&zipcode=28730&statecode=&dsc=y This one seems to have even more interesting stops for just a bit more $729 http://www.************/sc.do?d=06/01/2011&d2=06/30/2011&i=851329&c=1&v=441&IncludeAlumniRates=&IncludeSeniorRates=false&zipcode=28730&statecode=&dsc=y This Eastern Carribbean one looks neat, including a private island. Are private islands nice? $799 per. Which one do you recommend? Why? Also, what is the difference between a "Western Carribbean" and an "Exotic Western Carribbean" cruise? I really would like to know! Thank you so much in advance! Erik and Tonya
Rare Essiesmom Posted April 13, 2011 #2 Share Posted April 13, 2011 It could be the link itself. Unless you are posting links to cruises on the cruise line websites, any travel agency websites cannot be discussed or referenced on CC. Part of the community guidelines that you should read at least once a year. Without you telling us the ship and dates you are considering we cannot help you. 98Charlie Posted April 13, 2011 #3 Share Posted April 13, 2011 Yup. You've tried to link to travel agency web sites. Those names along with naughty words:eek: will automatically be blocked out. Better to just list the ships, itineraries and costs in a post. Charlie
Krazy Kruizers Posted April 13, 2011 #4 Share Posted April 13, 2011 welcome to cruise critic please take the time to either write your ships and dates or go to the cruise line itself and copy/paste the itineraries and ships here
faynce Posted April 13, 2011 Author #5 Share Posted April 13, 2011 I think I will do exactly that - I'll just make a new post with the actual itinerary. Thank you!

98Charlie Posted April 13, 2011 #7 Share Posted April 13, 2011 Moderators, please delete this thread.Faynce Generally mods won't bother to delete a thread like this. There's nothing "bad" about it. It will just sink toward the bottom and be forgotten. Charlie
better at sea Posted April 18, 2011 #8 Share Posted April 18, 2011 The most enjoyable Caribbean cruise we have been on was the Emerald Princess southern caribbean medley. You get the U.S. VI, British islands, dutch islands. Great snorkeling in BonAire.
